Bird watchers paradise! Located 2 blocks from beach on The Blues Trail, this modern home is nestled in a Live Oak 14' off the ground (no elevator)! Easy getaway for those looking to relax, ride bikes, and kayak (rentals available in Bay St Louis). Only 55 min to New Orleans. Most of the year, our native garden is buzzing with birds, butterflies, and hummingbirds. We suggest observing them from the balcony with coffee in the AM and from the couches underneath the house with a cocktail in the PM. Modern design meets coastal comfort in this 576 sq ft home. 15' in the trees with 19' elevated ceilings, creates a unique environment for a coastal retreat. "Relaxing", "open", and "inspiring" are a few words we regularly hear from visitors. Our native garden, is full of birds, hummingbirds, and butterflies! Please help yourself to the herbs.....rosemary, mint, and basil! Two block walk to beach, 2.5 miles to Bay St Louis, MS with historic artist downtown with shopping, dining, bike and kayak rentals. Fishing pier located 2 blocks away! We plan on leaving when we have rental as home is not equipped for more than 2 people, but we have a local contact person available. Note: no TV Named "Waveland" because people use to sit on their porches and wave to passer-bys, most locals will still greet you on the beach path with a 'morning' or 'hi y'all!' Waveland was almost completely destroyed by Hurricane Katrina. While the city is still struggling to rebuild, there remains plenty of green open spaces for us to still enjoy. Our property is .75 acres and only have neighbors to the east. Bay St Louis, a 3 mile bike ride east, offers locally owned restaurants and shops. Very quaint. There are festivals throughout the summer and a Second Saturday Artwalk every month in the evening with local musicians, free food/drink, and shops open until 8pm. Our beach is "bay-like" so great for fishing, kayaking, and sunning. By car or bike is the best. It's a small home and we've limited the capacity to 2 (ADULTS ONLY) for your comfort and to maintain the longevity of our home. There is NO TV, but according to my son, really fast internet. Due to severe allergies and wildlife preservation, we have a strict NO PETS and NO SMOKING policy.
