The River House is located on the Monocacy River with the Monocacy National Battlefield on the opposite shore. Downtown Frederick, Maryland is just 3 miles away. A brick charcoal barbecue grill is offered for outdoor grilling. There are 3 units available in the River House. This is the largest and includes a full modern kitchen with island seating for 5, 2 full baths, washer/dryer and sleeps 5 comfortably. The Villa is not pet friendly. The unit offers a large open space for enjoyable social gatherings and views of the river. Hickory hardwood floors shine throughout with custom pine doors and cedar closets. A full deck offers additional space for relaxing and entertaining on the river. The living area faces the river and includes a convertible sofa that sleeps 2 with an additional reading/relaxing area. The large bedroom on the main floor has a queen size bed with attached full bath and tub/shower (bathroom has shared access with the living area.) The quaint upstairs bedroom has a bunk bed that can sleep 3 (full and twin) with a full bath and shower. Downtown Frederick, Maryland is just 3 miles away and offers a fun variety of restaurants, pubs, breweries, shopping and cultural activities. Your getaway could be taking in the scenic view, drifting down the river or heading into downtown Frederick for some lively entertainment. Bring your fishing rods! The Monocacy boasts large and small mouth Bass, carp, and catfish. Some of our guests have enjoyed great kayaking outings and planned trips that took them right by the property! The property is served by Hughesnet satellite internet, which is reliable but you shouldn't expect download speeds any greater than 25 mbps. We have a good plan, but all Hughesnet plans have maximum data limits per month so you cannot use streaming services like Netflix or Zoom. But there is a "Bonus Zone" every night from 2 AM to 8 AM with unlimited data usage. We have had some issues with guests in the Villa making too much noise late at night and making it hard for guests in the two lower units to sleep. So, there is an 11 pm excessive noise curfew for this unit when either of the lower units is occupied. The sofa in the great room easily converts to a bed. There are instructions on the front of the frame. Bed linens for the convertible will be in the master bedroom closet. In support of the global effort to conserve energy resources utilizing reasonable practices, we have installed Ecobee “smart” thermostats in all of our listings that the guests can also control. The thermostats are preset with a maximum heating setting of 71 degrees and a minimum cooling setting of 72 degrees.
