The Bluff House is a stunning private, scrupulously clean waterfront home on Puget Sound offering unending views and every amenity you could wish for to make your vacation memorable, easy and fun. At 1,300 square feet, the home lives large and connects seamlessly with the outdoors. There are 45!! windows that bring in light from every direction, warm wood and tiles floors and a generously-sized open kitchen. Every room offers water and mountain views. The centerpiece of the home is a large, two-sided concrete Rumford fireplace - gas on the inside, wood-burning on the deck. A large dining table seats 8. The quartz-topped bar offers 3 barstools where your guests can interact with the cook and take in the views. Accommodations The home sleeps 4 in two queen bedrooms with two baths. Both bedrooms have unobstructed water views. Bedroom one occupies the entire upper floor of the home - and is partially open to the living room below to take full advantage of the soaring ceilings and light. There is a queen bed with a quality pillow-top mattress and the elegant tiled bathroom is equipped with hotel-quality towels. The shower delivers an exceptional water view. You'll step out onto the balcony from a set of glass doors to bask in the moonlight or watch the sunrise. We enjoy lying in bed and watching the marine traffic pass by - exquisite! Bedroom two is on the main floor and is home to a queen bed with comfy memory foam mattress and cotton-rich linens. There is a full bathroom down the hall. Need more space? Optionally add on The Loft, and exquisitely-finished 450 square foot space above the detached garage. The Loft offers another queen bed plus a twin trundle bed to accommodate an additional 4 people in a private, bright, water-view setting. Ask us for details. Gourmet Kitchen We love to cook and to entertain and you'll find everything you need to prepare and serve memorable meals in our fully-equipped kitchen. There's a commercial gas range, dishwasher, European-style fridge - and all the cookware and serving ware you'll need. We even include a generous variety of spices and necessities like olive oil and tea. Just bring your fresh ingredients - all else is here for you to prepare gourmet creations for your family and friends. And did we mention the large propane BBQ on the deck - waiting for your steaks, ribs or portobellos? Exceptional Views Views of Puget Sound, the Cascade Mountains, Whidbey Island and Mount Baker greet you from every window. A sturdy set of newly constructed stairs delivers you to a fabulous soft sand and driftwood beach, ideal for beachcombers and afternoon picnics. The beach is private - accessible only to homeowners and invited guests, so it's quite possible you more see another souls. It's in the Details We've furnished and equipped the home with your comfort in mind - and keep the home scrupulously clean. Rich cotton sheets, down duvets, and fine pillows adorn the beds. Fluffy towels and warm tiled floors greet you in the baths. We keep the home stocked with amenities like shampoo and toothpaste, just in case you forget your favorites. Technology We know - you say you're ready to get away from it all. But, it's still nice to know you've got options if the boss calls. High-speed satellite internet connectivity throughout the home ensures you can get the information you want - should you decide you want it. We've recently installed an electric vehicle (EV) charger which is available for use during your stay. Entertainment A generously-sized flat screen smart TV and DVD player will keep you entertained. A large selection of DVDs awaits your browsing as well. The home has Sonos WiFi speakers - which connect instantly to your phone or laptop. Download the Sonos app and you're good to go! Outdoor Spaces The Bluff House is alive with outdoor spaces. A covered deck, graced by a large outdoor fireplace, propane BBQ and ample seating invites you to enjoy the salt air. Upstairs, an intimate balcony is ideal for morning coffee or an evening nightcap. A viewing platform at the water's edge invites star gazing. With over 800 square feet of decking and an acre and a half of wooded grounds, you and your guests will find the perfect outdoor space - whether you seek company or solitude. Hit the Beach A sturdy set of beach steps take you down to a spectacular private sandy beach. Walk for miles in both directions, or simply spread out a blanket and soak up the views. There are approximately 80 steps down - but we guarantee it's worth the walk! With no public access, you may never see another soul - or you may be fortunate enough to meet up with one of our gracious neighbors. Warm Heated Floors Hate cold feet? Us too. The Bluff House is equipped with a hydronic heating system that keeps every inch of the floor (even the shower floors!) warm and toasty. It's quiet, efficient and well, fabulous. The Bluff House was designed as an escape for romance-seeking couples (and their inevitable kids, in-laws and besties). We built the home for ourselves, and the finishes reflect the high-end care and attention of someone building for the long term. The home is warm, inviting, calming and well, romantic. It's the perfect place to ground yourself and your romance before returning to the real world. Other things to note There are 80 secure steps down to the sandy beach. A drop-down section at the base of the stairs is controlled by a winch. Guests much be at least 18 years of age to operate the winch. No one may be on the drop-down section during raising and lowering. The House: The house is 1,300 square feet and you will have access to all rooms within the house. There are a few private (locked) cupboards for owner’s supplies. The garage and unfinished basement are for the owners' storage and therefore not listed as part of the rental. In winter months, some of the deck furniture will be in storage. We want you to thoroughly enjoy your stay and are happy to answer any questions about the property or the surrounding area. We are available by email, phone, or text message for guests during your stay. Just 20 minutes from the Kingston ferry terminal, The Bluff House is located on an acre and a half of lovely wooded land at the tip of the Kitsap Peninsula. It's extremely private - yet offers every modern convenience one could ask for. A flight of stairs takes you to a spectacular sandy beach - ideal for strolling, swimming, kayaking and picnicking. Nearby attractions include an extensive trail system for bikers, hikers, and equestrians - plus fine and casual dining, a casino and unique shopping experiences. Hansville is close to Seattle/Bainbridge Island and Edmonds/Kingston ferries and just a short drive to the historic towns of Port Gamble and Poulsbo that offer restaurants and entertainment. The location is also ideal for visiting nearby Port Townsend and the Olympic mountains including "Hurricane Ridge". Approximately 75 minutes to Port Angeles-Victoria, B.C. ferry (90-minute crossing to downtown Victoria). The home sits on a bank approximately 50 feet high and there is no fence. As such, the home is not suitable for unsupervised children. There are 80 steps down to the beach. Guests may use the stairs but assume all risk in doing so and are urged to proceed carefully and use handrails. A drop down section at the base of the stairs is raised and lowered by a winch. Guests must be 18+ to use the winch, and no one may be on the drop down section while it is raised or lowered. The parking and entry areas of the property are protected by security cameras.
