RockHill Ranch is a serene and gorgeous five-acre oasis in the Joshua Tree desert. It has breathtaking 360-degree views and a private, climbable rock mountain. The large two-bedroom, two-bath, fully-equipped house has been meticulously renovated and decorated with beautiful decor, while remaining comfortable and casual. With an incredible rock hill back yard to explore and a high desert pool (open May 15-Sept 29) to cool off and relax in, guests are set for a one of a kind vacation. An original homestead from the 1950’s, Rock Hill Ranch has spectacular views in every direction. It even has some of the original boulders inside one of the living rooms! The house sits on a magnificent piece of secluded land with a private rock mountain that is easy to climb. Inside the House The upstairs loft includes a large master bedroom with king bed, a full bathroom with tub, and a long balcony with lounge chairs and a vintage porch swing for relaxing and enjoying the panoramic view. Upstairs also includes a separate office space with an antique desk and chair. The guest bedroom downstairs offers a queen bed and private porch. A modular sofa in the “Rock Room” can be configured into two single beds or a large queen. So, if need be, the house can comfortably sleep six. A fully equipped modern kitchen, with attached dining area, has everything you might possibly need. Each of the two living rooms has a wood-burning fireplace. The house, designed and decorated by artists, is a rare combination of upscale, modern, vintage, unfussy, and utterly unique. At every turn you will find a beautiful object, painting, or book, and impeccable lighting. The house also has all the modern tech conveniences: wifi, flat screen smart TVs with Netflix/Hulu access, Apple TV units, RoKu units, dvd player, a in house stereo, a portable blue-tooth speaker, remote-controlled ceiling fans, etc. Outside the House You Will Find: -- a gas and charcoal BBQ grill -- a wood dining table on the back patio that seats up to 10 -- various charming seating areas around the property -- gas fire table surrounded by a sofa and chairs -- hammock -- an above ground pool, open May 15 thru Sept 29. Pool is NOT heated. -- heated outdoor shower, open May 15 thru Sept 29. -- lounge chairs -- sun umbrellas The property has tons of seating areas outside, as well as a propane fired table surrounded by sofa and chairs, hammocks, an above ground pool (see open dates), and an outdoor shower (see open dates). It’s an easy one-mile drive from the west entrance of Joshua Tree National Park and a five-minute drive from downtown Joshua Tree. Close enough to get everything you need, far enough to feel like you’re hidden away on your own perfect little private planet. The outdoor areas, interwoven with breathtaking rock formations, are perfect for relaxing and stargazing. The house offers indoor wood-burning fireplaces, smart TVs with Netflix / Hulu, Prime Video and Wifi. Outdoor dining with long tables, lounge chairs and a hammock, a gas BBQ grill, outdoor gas fire table. Guests have access to a wide variety of relaxation and entertainment options during their stay. We love to share our extensive knowledge of the Joshua Tree area with guests but are also very respectful of guests’ privacy. As such, the amount interaction is entirely at our guests' discretion. Secluded, quiet, and beautiful! The property is a short drive to both the Joshua Tree National Park and the village of Joshua Tree. The village offers a variety of great restaurants, art galleries, a health food store, etc. Legendary music venue, Pappy & Harriet’s, is just a twenty-minute drive away in Pioneertown. A car is highly recommended. Several taxi companies service the town of Joshua Tree. Uber is now in the area it’s not always reliable. Public transportation is limited. A public bus connects Joshua Tree, Yucca Valley, and Twentynine Palms along Hwy 62. --2 night minumim stay required / During holidays 3 night stay required. -- No filming or photo shoots for commercial purposes or parties, weddings, or other events with 10+ attendees without express written permission. -- Please be mindful of the California drought and keep water use to a minimum. -- No smoking in the house. -- No pets without prior written permission. -- Children must be supervised by an adult at all times. -- No tampons or other foreign objects flushed in toilets or hair ext down drains because we are on a septic system. -- Outdoor gas fire table available, do not add wood use with caution and do not leave burning unattended. --A bundle for firewood will be supplied for both indoor fireplaces, please use with caution and do not leave burning unattended. -The pool (closed Oct 1-May14) Pool is not heated. It is a wonderful space to unwind but we have strict rules which are covered in the rental agreement and our guest book (please review) please - only use the ladder for getting in and out - no glass at all around the pool - no horse play around or in the pool. -Outdoor shower (closed Oct 1-May14) is such a treat because it is connected to a propane powered heater, please read instructions on usage in the guest book. -Do not leave any door open unattended make sure to close screen doors tightly behind you! There have been a lot of critters out this season already, scorpions, lizards tarantulas, and snakes so please be cautious! -Please do not disturb any of the wildlife like the wonderful bunnies, jack rabbits lizards, quail and chuckwallas. -I will have our standard rental agreement at the house upon your arrival and each guest will need to sign it.
