**** available for Easter*** Horseshoe Point is a private 3 acre peninsula on the St. Marys River adjacent to St. Marys College and Historic St. Marys City. The expansive lawn and mature shade trees are the perfect setting to sip drinks from the Adirondack chairs while watching the boats pass and enjoying the wildlife. Experience the land of pleasant living. The space Horseshoe Point includes a mid century modest home with three bedrooms, one full bath and one half bath. The open floor plan and comfortable accommodations create a respite from the daily grind. Outside, the expansive lawn and mature shade trees define serenity. The deep water dock is perfect for sun worship, crabbing or fishing. The deck is a perfect vantage point to keep track of the diverse wildlife. Watch for eagles, osprey, great blue heron, red fox, deer and owls. Even the squirrels are entertaining. The screen porch provides an outdoor space for when Mother Nature doesn’t cooperate. Plenty of room to park cars. Guests may use the kayaks and paddle boards The Hammock is a destination on its own. Inquire about crabs! Seaplane rides / tour available. Pick-up from the sandbar HSP is located in nature with its inherent risks including hazards associated with water - river & hot tub. Guests will be required to acknowledge these risks and release hosts from associated liability. Dog We’re dog lovers and Horseshoe Point is a perfect place for dogs to run and swim. You’re welcome to bring your dog with you if you agree to these basic requirements: 1. Pet is house trained. 2. You’ll pick-up waste. 3. No fleas. 4. If your pet damages anything you’ll repair, replace or financially compensate. 5. Pet cleaning fee of $90 will be added. When you book your reservation please describe your dog and acknowledge agreement with the above list. Fishing If you like to fish, guests report great results from the dock at HSP. Because Horseshoe Bend is an Oyster Sanctuary the bottom creates a rich habitat for the fish to feed. You’ll likely catch a variety of species including rock, flounder and perch. Bring your poles and tackle box loaded with bottom rigs, rattle traps and poppers. A Fishing License is required. Guest access Guests have access to the entire house and yard along with the dock. Other things to note Please drive slowly on the private driveway as the neighbor has a blind dog. Children are welcome. Please know there is a concrete deck spanning the length of the house with no railing to obstruct the view. The drop is 4 - 5 feet. Small children will require full supervision. Risk Horseshoe Point is an oasis immersed in nature. Guests accept responsibility for inherent risk including, but not limited to: Wildlife - deer, mosquitoes, ticks, jellyfish, snakes, oyster shells, fox, poison ivy and other potential perils. Water is inviting and is a draw for everyone, but comes with obvious risks. The dock, hot tub, swimming and paddle sports are to be considered potentially dangerous. Guests accept and manage these risks and hold hosts harmless. Guests will sign an acknowledgment of these risks.
