Escape your cares and worries on our huge horse and cattle farm. Our farm is sufficiently isolated so you & your children can play outside, enjoying nature. Wolftrap Farm features seven vacation rentals on a 600 acre horse and cattle farm. At the Milker's Cottage, you have horses right at your back door. Enjoy our Game Barn, fish in our ponds, hike in our woods, jump on our hay bales. Convenient to Montpelier, Monticello, 6 wineries, UVA. Easy to find; hard to leave. Gorgeous views. It is a simple cottage, but we have made it gorgeous inside, to match the outside surroundings. The Milker's Cottage was originally the home for a "milker" when this was a big "modern" dairy farm in the 1940's. In 2015, we upgraded it by adding a second bath and a large screened side porch. Our interior designer chose a country cottage theme, featuring COWS. The colors are gorgeous. Children will love the bunk beds in the second bedroom, with the cow pictures peeking out at them. But the real attraction is the farm. It is vast and beautiful. And it is easy to reach (one turn off of U.S. Highway 15 and you run right into our farm road). Your whole group will love telling about the time they stayed on a real farm, with real horses, real cattle, real wildlife, real tractors, and real woods. NEW: You now have the option of booking our Hot Tub Patio, where you can enjoy games like corn hole and connect four, in addition to the hot tub and a fire pit. No charge, but you must book your time of use by contacting the owner. 90 minutes per day you have booked. The house is yours. You can also stroll up and down our mile-long farm road, hike in our 300 acre woods, share the use of our Game Barn (pool table, air hockey, ping pong, foosball, bikes, etc.). You have a back alley from the Milker's Cottage leading down to our largest pond, where the fishing is great. We have staff that lives just outside the back gate of the farm. The owner is available 24/7 via phone, text or email. When you drive by a beautiful farm, with wood fencing, horses, cattle, and the farm complex in the distance, do you ever wish you could drive in, explore, and stay awhile? That is what you can do at Wolftrap Farm. After you leave the highway, you have a half mile of dirt road, then continue a half-mile on our farm road to the top of the hill, where you find our farm complex. There are two big horse barns, a Manor House and a scattering of smaller houses (including a former slave quarters and a Game Barn that date from 1856), and gorgeous views of mountains and pastures. Ping pong, pool table, bikes and other games are in the shared Game Barn that is near the Pond House.
