The lake house sits on a 1.5-acre lot with 150' of private waterfront and features a wraparound deck, rock walls, fire pit, flower gardens, private dock & swim raft, gas grill, Adirondack chairs, a canoe, and 2 kayaks. The lake offers great fishing and swimming and the White Mountain area has gorgeous scenery, hiking, river tubing, fine restaurants, craft breweries, apple orchards, golf courses, covered bridges, and more. The lake house is in Bath NH and close to Littleton, Woodstock, & Lincoln. The lake house is so close to Lake Gardner that kids can often be found fishing for smallmouth bass and perch right from the large wraparound deck while adults relax nearby from the comfort of Adirondack chairs. Inside you'll find an open floor plan with a fully appointed kitchen (utensils, cookware, blender, spices, toaster oven, coffee maker, oven, range...), a dining area, and a living area. The wall of windows facing the lake provides cool breezes and ensures water views throughout the house. Whether you wish to stay lakeside for the day or go on an adventure, it is nice to come home and throw in a DVD from the small library, catch up on Netflix, or play some retro video games. The dining room table makes for the perfect location for family game nights and there is surely a game for everyone to enjoy in our fully stocked game closet. The side-yard is surrounded by perennial flower gardens and offers a great vantage point of the lake and the dock and swim raft below. The gas grill is situated on the corner of the wraparound deck and is a perfect spot to cook up lunch or dinner while enjoying a local craft beer. S'mores and ghost stories are always a treat and the amphitheater-style natural stone seating that surrounds our fire pit, which also faces the water, adds to the experience. The stars at night are absolutely amazing as there is no ambient light to spoil the show. Come bedtime, one upstairs bedroom has a bunk bed with a full-size bed on the bottom and twin on top, along with a queen-sized bed, while the master has a queen-sized bed. If you leave the curtains open, you can fall asleep looking at the stars and wake up to watch the steam rising off the water as the sun rises above the mountains. Linens and towels are available but we simply ask that if you use them that you kindly wash them in the on-site washer and dryer before you leave. We hope that you and your family will come to experience the best that the White Mountain's have to offer. The entire house is open for your enjoyment. We are a quick call away but since this is our second home we won't be there when you are. So the house is all yours to enjoy! Big kids, or big kids at heart, can dive in from the end of the dock and with a deep breath just might be able to make the swim underwater all the way to the private raft. Smaller children, and those that like to ease themselves into the cooler waters, can wade into the clean, spring-fed lake from the shoreline. Take the canoe or the kayak out for a paddle around the lake and you might be fortunate enough to site bald eagles, ospreys, loon and other water fowl. If you want nature to do all of the work then just take a quick trip to the center of Bath NH, grab your beverage of choice at the Bath General Store (the oldest in the country), walk across the covered bridge, and drop your butt in a inner tube and take a leisurely journey down the Ammonoosuc River. There is a dirt road that runs along the river which makes for a great mountain bike ride. Deer, turkey, moose and black bear call the White Mountains their home so bring your camera if you decide to take a drive or hike any of the nearby trails. The Appalachian Trail is nearby but fortunately, since not everyone is game for a 2175 mile hike, there are plenty of tamer options including the famed Lost River Caves and Franconia Notch (both within 30-40 mins away). The Cannon Aerial Tram is an easier way to get to the top and offers gorgeous views without the thigh burn. Walk around the grounds and pick blue, red and black berries or go to a nearby farm such as Windy Ridge Orchard and check out the local produce and the animals. Apple picking starts late August but berries are in season earlier. If you prefer to leave the cooking to others there are several top rated options nearby for evening the most discerning of tastes. Polly's Pancake Parlor in Sugar Hill, Colatina's Exit in Bradford, and Woodstock Station are all highly rated and delicious. This prime location has modern conveniences like grocery stores, restaurants, etc.. within 5-10 minutes from the house as well as more traditional New England sites such as country stores, covered bridges (we have 3 in Bath), antique shops, waterfalls, farm stands, apple orchards, fairs and more. The entertainment varies from mini golf to challenging 18 hole courses, amusement parks including Clark's Trading Post, Whale's Tale Water Park and Santa's Village, and even the longest candy counter in the world at Chutter's in Lincoln. This is a house in the woods. The road in is made of dirt. There is no public transportation so you'll either need to hoof it or find yourself a car.
