Our home boasts 1,500 square feet of rustic finishes with an artsy flair that you won't find in cookie-cutter properties, along with beautifully barren desert views from every possible perspective – dotted with wildflowers, shrubs, and yucca trees. Built in the 1950’s, this home was once under the care of its original owner who, over the years, made additions and constructed it into a two-story homestead cabin. However, after years of neglect, the home had come to a state of complete disrepair – dilapidated and in urgent need of restoration. The winds of change came along when 3 friends stumbled upon this diamond in the rough – seeing great potential in it and transformed the cabin into the glistening hidden gem that you see today. Influenced by the enchantment of the desert, our home was designed with one view in mind – to create an inspiring space for writers, designers, and artists to flourish in their creativity. Soft and serene, any guests seeking a quiet escape will fulfill their desires here – whether it be working, relaxing, or spending quality time with loved ones. We truly believe that once this sanctuary has cast its spell, you’ll never want to leave. As you make your way inside, you can’t help but admire the artisanal motifs and boho-inspired décor, along with ultra-comfy furniture bringing the ambiance. A maximum of 6 guests can fall asleep here comfortably, and features: ➤ Bedroom 1: A primary suite in the upstairs portion of our home, comprised of a Queen size mattress and a private ensuite bathroom – featuring a deep soaking bathtub. ➤ Bedroom 2: The “Chief’s Bedroom” is equipped with a Queen size bed. This room is partially subterranean, which keeps it cool during the warm days but makes it a comfortable hideaway for a couple during the chilly nights. ➤ Bedroom 3: The “Gold Room” is known to be the coziest room in the house. It's like a warm hug from the desert. This room features a full-size mattress complete with a nightstand, a fuzzy rug, and lovely artful décor guaranteed to bring you joy. Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have access to the custom-designed downstairs bathroom offering plenty of space to refresh and revitalize your body in the stand-up concrete shower. Other things to note • Our home is located on a dirt road about 3/4 of a mile from the main paved road Border. • As our 2.5-acre lot is located out in a wide-open rural setting of the Californian Mojave Desert, be prepared for dry, hot conditions. Also, keep in mind that you will be around wildlife. Be respectful, quiet, and kind to the natural elements surrounding our home. • Our listed price is for 6 people which is the maximum allowed by our permit. We charge an additional $150 per person, per night if your group is greater than 6. • Film shoots, photo shoots, and glitter are prohibited (Yes, glitter!) • Maximum stay is 29 nights. • Small well-behaved dogs are allowed, please notify the owner of the number of pets you wish to bring. 2 dogs maximum. • We encourage you to disconnect at our home. We do not have any streaming services or cable. Please enjoy one of the hundreds of movies from our VHS collection. • As we are located in the middle of the desert, our internet speed is slower than your typical cable internet connection that you would expect to have in a city or fully developed town. • Please note that the entire Morongo Basin area has limited options for public transportation, particularly ridesharing services such as Uber and Lyft.
