THE CROW'S NEST is a 739 sq ft private 2nd-story studio guest/MIL apartment above the detached garage of a waterfront home. It has 10' ceilings and is fully furnished with a private entrance. Deck and windows provide incredible views of Mt Rainier, Wollochet Bay and a prized garden. Use of 2 small kayaks and summer fire pit is free. Downtown quaint historic Gig Harbor is 5-7 miles away from this convenient and affordable guest house. Accommodations: THE CROW'S NEST is a large (739 square ft.), open second floor studio loft, stocked kitchenette with dining area, large bathroom with a roomy shower, one queen-size bed and a single bed. Sleeps 1-3. Relax and entertain on your private deck where you can greet the morning sun with coffee & enjoy the evening shade with a glass of wine. Lower deck seating has a view of our woodland middle garden. Enjoy our no-bank waterfront with view seating, mooring dock, all 3 award-winning gardens with several seating areas, fire pit right on the beach and access to one of the most beautiful bays on Puget Sound. We do have 2 small kayaks and a rowboat available for your use. Life vests are required and can be found in the large brown storage chest next to the kayaks in the fire pit area. THE CROW'S NEST at Anderson Landing is 13 steps up to the second floor of a separate building from the main house giving you both privacy and comfort. We value your privacy (and ours), but will be available to answer any questions or help you in any way that we can. Texting is the fastest way to reach us. The sea air is both peaceful and healing. Living on a body of saltwater with its tides and sea life is very different from living on a lake. Though, like a lake our bay seems intimate and protected, it can be more closely compared to living on a cul-de-sac...only this is a cul-de-sac of salt water. Beyond Wollochet Bay is Puget Sound. Beyond Puget Sound is the Ocean. And that's the wonder of it: our little bay eventually leads to the ends of the earth. Make The Crow's Nest your base camp! We have made up a binder with suggested outings, restaurants, entertainment and parks. (i.e. Our favorite day trip is catching a ferry to spend a day in Seattle. We have everything you need...from the ferry schedule to fun activities and sights to the best eateries...depending upon your preferences.) One parking space. We may have room for a guest as well to swing by if you have family/friends in the area, but please let us know as we do have limited parking availability beyond the dedicated Crows Nest space. You will need a vehicle to get around but everything in Gig Harbor is about 5 minutes away. There is public transportation within a 20 min. walk. Rental cars and shuttles are available at the airport if you are flying in to SeaTac. A binder with suggested outings and events from local to all-day trips is available in The Crow's Nest. Our extended-range WiFi is excellent. And, for those looking to work remotely, the Crow's Nest provides a quiet and easy atmosphere in which to conduct business. Many of our guests are simply looking for a change of scenery and can engage in work activities (zoom meetings, calls, etc) without any issues.
