ACTIVITIES Boat Launch: Town Launch (one mile down Dutch Neck Rd. on left) Swimming: If you walk down the path through our field, there is a pebble beach at the bottom of a stairway from which you can swim at mid to high tide. You can access the path via the lane to the left of our barn. There is a tide schedule on the wall above the sink. You can also swim off of the ramp at the Town Launch (one mile down Dutch Neck Rd on left). Pete’s Pond. Access from ¾ mile marked path on Dutch Neck Rd. next community center or from Gross Neck Rd. (¼ mile down Dutch Neck Rd. from intersection with Rte. 32) Follow road for about a mile past Carterville to top of hill, entry on left down woodlot road (leave your car on the Gross Neck Rd.) The pond is a spring-fed kettle hole (135 ft deep at center) and is a local treasure and a beautiful place to swim. Pemaquid Beach is a ½ hour away and has a lovely sandy ocean beach and a snack bar. It is a great place to spend the day with kids. Damariscotta Lake Beach is 20 min away on Rte. 32N in Jefferson. Whale watching: Boothbay Whale Watch (207) 633-3500 Hiking: Camden Hills State Park Monhegan Island (ferries from Port Clyde or New Harbor) This island is one of the greatest treasures of Maine.
