Denkmal Posthalterhof anno 1683 (Thurn & Taxis)

The Posthalterhof was built around 1683 as a postal station of Thurn and Taxis as a station between Cologne and Trier. In the middle of Blankenheim, less than 200 meters from the Ahrquelle, the Posthalterhof is one of the oldest buildings in Blankenheim. Located in the center of Blankenheim, right on the Eifelsteig and the Jakobsweg, it offers guests a quarter, just like 300 years ago. Warmed by the open fire, you can enjoy a good glass of wine from the Ahr while having good conversations. The space The Posthalterhof was lovingly renovated by its current owners. The work was completed in October 2019. It was important to us to combine the historical with the new on around 260 square meters. Eclecticism, new bathrooms, Wi-Fi in all rooms, TV with Netflix & Prime, box spring beds, but also the flair of the old rooms; this was the task. Cooking together on the gas stove and enjoying the Ahr wine at the large table, with good music. On the large terrace, a large table and a grill are available for 12 people. Of the 4 bedrooms, the fountain room and the coachman's room have separate access. The cave room adjoins the mountain room and is only accessible through the mountain room. Our new sauna area is ready. On about 70 square meters, including lounge area with castle views, we offer all guests (3 apartments) the sauna plus hot tub and lounge in the over 500-year-old vaulted cellar. The use is free of charge, but it must be reserved individually. The sauna area is available for individual use from 10:00 am to 9:00 pm. Up to 2.5 hours of use per day per apartment can be reserved. From 9:00 pm, it is equally available to all guests. A scheduler is available at check-in. Guest access Garden and terraces Other things to note Nürburgring is 30.5 km or half an hour away. 75 km to Cologne Fair, but less than 1 hour's drive due to good transport links.
