This spacious home is great for families or friends and EV car ready! The open layout is perfect for socializing, cooking (2 fridges), eating & playing together. The large fenced yard is great for kids and pets and has horseshoe pits, a net for volleyball or badminton, a fire pit, a hammock and large deck with a charcoal grill. The home backs up to Smith Creek and has a scenic view of the creek just below the backyard with lovely stone steps down to the water. We think you'll love this house! The space Edelweiss is a lovely country home on the banks of beautiful Smith Creek, just 3 miles from downtown Wimberley. This spacious house is perfect for family and friend gatherings. Enjoy the creek behind the backyard, watch the deer graze as you sip your morning coffee, strum your guitar beside the fire, challenge your friends to a game of pool, have a family bbq on the gorgeous back deck, snuggle up by the fireplace, and feel the stress melt away. The name Edelweiss belongs to a delicate white flower that grows in the Alps, made famous in The Sound of Music. From the morning songs of the sweet, chirping birds to the evening orchestra courtesy of the frogs and toads along the creek, the Hill Country is definitely alive with the sound of music! During the house remodel the kitchen was built from scratch, and some of the furniture was hand made by the owner, a professional woodworker. The house has 2.5 baths, 3 bedrooms (king, queen, and two bunk beds), plus a large game room with a pool table and 2 additional twin beds for groups wishing to spread out. Add that to the open living room (seating for 8) and dining area (seats 8), the custom kitchen (2 full size fridges, gas range), the large deck with a beautiful hand-made picnic table, spacious fenced yard (hammock, charcoal grill, fire ring, & badminton net), and the lovely stone steps down to the creek, and you’ve got the perfect space for your family and friend retreat! We are environmentally conscious and offer a level 2 EV charger, full recycling & compost, use environmentally friendly soaps and cleaning products, provide recycled paper products, offer a reverse-osmosis filtration system to eliminate the need for bottled water, and landscape minimally with native low-water plants. We are pet-friendly! Pets must be declared in advance and our pet fee is $50/pet. We ask that if dogs are left unattended in the home that they are crated. Pets must remain on leash when outside of the fenced yard and brought inside if barking. Guest access Guest have full access to the home and 2 acre property. There is space enough to park about 6 cars. Please do not park on the grass. Other things to note Pet Policy: Our pet fee is charged for each pet (up to 2). Please reach out to discuss additional pets, if you have more than two. Creek note: Smith Creek is a spring-fed year 'round creek, however creek levels and flow can be affected by periods of drought. When full, the creek is great for swimming directly behind the house and is about 5'-6' deep. We cannot control nature, though, and cannot guarantee that the creek will be swimmable during your stay. It's an amazingly gorgeous spot no matter what the water level may be! EV car? No problem! We have a level 2 EV charger (pay per charge) onsite. Please be sure your guest total is correct. Our base rate includes 6 guests, but adjusts up for guests 7-10.
