Description
This is a beautiful remodeled vintage cottage filled with natural light, exposed brick, fir floors, a gas fireplace, and private parking. It is quiet and secluded, yet close to everything. You can sit on the brick patio outside in the shade of a maple tree and enjoy a beverage. Look at the photos, read below about the space, and let me know if you have any questions! I respond quickly and am happy to provide any information I can to help make your stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The space This is a beautiful remodeled vintage cottage filled with natural light, exposed brick, fir floors, a gas fireplace, and private parking. The kitchen, dining area and living room have an open floor plan. The bedroom and bathroom have doors. The bedroom has a queen bed with hypoallergenic pillows and comforter. There are extra pillows and blankets. There is a closet with plenty of hangers and a dresser so you can unpack your things if you'd like. There is an electric baseboard heater in the bedroom, though guests rarely need to use it as the gas fireplace keeps the place quite comfortable. The fully equipped kitchen has a refrigerator, 4 burner gas range, microwave, toaster, blender, French press, filtered water, quality pots and pans, baking materials including a rolling pin (I like to bake!), hand painted dishes, wine glasses, aperitif glasses, a serving tray, coffee, tea, honey, sugar, foil and plastic wrap, and basic spices: s&p, garlic powder, cumin, Italian seasoning and cinnamon! The living room has the gas fireplace, comfy seating and a couple of throws to curl up under. There is a 27" smart TV and high speed internet so you can enjoy TV shows and movies through your Netflix, Hulu or other entertainment accounts. There is also an HDMI cable to connect your device directly to the TV. There are playing cards and an old fashioned checker board along with several select "classics" in case you forgot your book. : -) I have an air conditioner in the living room during the summer. Two skylights and lots of windows let in plenty of light. The windows in the living area look out on to the patio and garden, which in the growing season is filled with flowers and vegetables. There are 2 umbrellas because, well, it has been known to rain in Eugene! The cozy brick patio has a table and three chairs (more if you need them - just ask!). It is shaded by a maple tree and I grow flowers around the perimeter. It is the perfect place to enjoy an outdoor meal or just a morning cup of coffee, an afternoon cup of tea or an evening glass of wine! At 600 square feet, the cottage is ideal for couples or singles wishing for a tranquil, comfortable and clean space to rest, relax and enjoy the wineries, festivals and outdoor recreation opportunities in Eugene, visit their college student, or stay during a business trip. If you're coming to work, there is an adjustable desk in the living room so you can sit or stand. As an added bonus, the desk is right in front of a window with a hummingbird feeder in front of it, so you may have some winged visitors keeping you company - and we have hummingbirds year round! I genuinely enjoy having an Airbnb and offering this cottage to guests. When I bake goodies or make chocolate truffles I share them with my guests. Here are some of the things past guests have said: "Thank you for sharing your cozy cottage with us. We enjoyed the fresh flowers, homemade scones and use of the shed. Your location was perfect for our bicycling rides!" “The accommodations are second to none. We felt at home in this very comfortable cottage. We stayed at the beginning and end of our trip and the cottage and its amenities are A++. Jennifer was a great host and made sure we had everything we needed. Will stay here every time we are in town. Loved our stay.” "Dear Jennie, Thank you for a wonderful stay, real pleasure to meet you, hope you come and stay in London!" "Don't change a thing! What a lovely cottage! Thank you for everything." "The pie in the fridge is for you - thank you for the lovely stay!" "Thanks you so much for all your help! Your Airbnb is lovely. P.S. See you in Holland! “Wow Jennie - Your place is amazing, all the creature comforts, awesome location, so close to downtown, and so peaceful and quiet. Thanks for your hospitality! We really enjoyed the cottage!” Thank you, Jennie, for sharing with us your clean, comfortable, well-appointed cottage. We appreciate your attention to detail and heritage including your chenille bathmats, the art on your walls, the furniture, the hat with the silk flowers and hairnet and the healthy garden and flower beds. "Thank you so much for your hospitality. The cottage is lovely and we really enjoyed our stay here." "I want to come back here again to truly enjoy what you have created. I feel so at home here! After such a big, full day I sat in the rocking chair, rocking and weeping in comfort..." "Thank you so much for sharing your cottage with us. We found the whole experience absolutely charming." I have been so fortunate to host kind and appreciative guests as well as be hosted by warm and welcoming hosts. I look forward to continuing the Airbnb tradition by welcoming you and doing all I can to help your stay be comfortable and enjoyable. Guest access As a guest you have access to the entire cottage. It is a private space, not connected to anything else. The patio outside the cottage is just for guests. It is a lovely place to sip a cup of coffee while reading and listening to the birds, enjoy a glass of wine or partake in a whole a meal outside. The garden will occasionally have a gardener (usually me) working in it and there is not a fence separating the outdoor area of the cottage from the outdoor back area of the main house, where long term tenants live, so you may from time to time see them but that is not a regular occurrence.
