Description
Pretty country cottage all on ground floor; totally self-contained with own front door. It has a pretty patio area with bistro table and chairs to enjoy in good weather. Situated just 30 minutes from Edinburgh, 40 minutes from Glasgow by car and within easy reach of the Scottish Borders, the cottage makes the perfect base for exploring. Yet, despite its proximity to these key tourist attractions, the accommodation enjoys a quiet, rural location in South Lanarkshire, close to Biggar and Lanark. The space Ampherlaw Farmhouse's lovingly restored and converted barns, dating from the 19th century, now provide luxury self catering accommodation for 2 people, making it the ideal country retreat for a relaxing holiday or romantic escape to the countryside. The accommodation has been tastefully converted in keeping with its Listed Building status, with thick, Scottish sandstone walls and traditional wooden sash and case windows. The cottage comprises an enormous double bedroom with two armchairs by the woodburning stove within the bedroom, a big ensuite bathroom with bath and overhead shower, a huge dining room furnished with antiques and a fully equipped kitchen. All bed linen, towels and bathrobes are provided by us (changed weekly for longer stay guests), and the price includes all heating, electricity and linens, a welcome pack of milk, bread, butter and biscuits, along with tea, coffee and sugar, as well as a basket of logs and coal for the stove during winter months. Guest access Ampherlaw Cottage is completely private. It has a pretty patio with bistro table and chairs to enjoy in good weather, along with a barbeque and log store. There is ample parking right beside the cottage. Registration Details SL00197F
