Add to that, common spaces that can be shared with larger groups, or experienced alone. A common Lobby space with a fireplace, turntable with records, board games, puzzles and a large screen TV. The Dragon Lounge is another common space and faces the outdoor fireplace and pizza oven. Rooftop decks with the best harbor views in town!! Our rooftop has incomparable views of the Harbor, Sailboats, Lighthouse and Coast Guard Station. The Storefront is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath unit with a full kitchen. It is on the main level below The Artist Loft unit (a 2 Bedroom unit) and faces the harbor. The main bedroom has a queen bed and faces the harbor. The 2nd bedroom is a queen over queen bunk. This unit is dog friendly. There is a 1 time dog cleaning fee + tax that is required. Choose the pet option when booking. No cats or any other animals are allowed, 2 dog maximum. Please note that we will be painting the interior of this unit to a soft white during April and early May of 2022. With all the other warm tones in the room, trust that The Storefront will be just as cozy as you are seeing it now! The Mayhew Inn is right in the heart of downtown Grand Marais on beautiful Harbor Park. It is a great home base for enjoying the gentle activity of the Village or easily getting away for day trips to the BWCA. Drive up the Gunflint Trail for day adventures and hikes. Even though The Mayhew Inn is right downtown on the harbor front, it is graced with a gorgeous secluded backyard with courtyard areas, rooftop decks with breathtaking views, fabulous restaurants and shops all within walking distance. Your own private campfires in the backyard at night, and watch the stars to wind down your evening. In the evening, step next door to the Gunflint Tavern and enjoy a microbrew, glass of wine or cocktail and live music. Keep in mind you are downtown Grand Marais, so there is daytime activity - shopping, tourists, and a little bit of the nightlife. But that's part of the fun. Fortunately that all ends early in Grand Marais as everything pretty much shuts down around 9:00 – 10:00 pm. Wake with the gulls in the morning sun and enjoy the quiet solitude of downtown as it gently comes to life. Stroll to The Angry Trout Cafe, The Fisherman’s Daughter, Voyageur Brewing Taproom, Sven & Ole’s Pizza, Worlds Best Donuts, coffee at The Java Moose or grab breakfast at The Blue Water Cafe or South of The Border Cafe. All short walks. In Grand Marais every day is a beautiful magical day whether it is sunny and warm or stormy and wild; all year round nature's magic unfolds right in front of you over the greatest of lakes, Lake Superior! Other things to note At The Mayhew Inn, there are multiple outdoor and indoor private and shared spaces just for guests. It's truly unique, and the only boutique hotel in Grand Marais. You will have a private parking lot 1/2 block away giving guests a spot to park during busy summer and fall seasons. Drop off your bags, supplies and travelers at the back alley private lobby entrance, then park your car right up the street! Drop your bags in your room, and unwind from your long drive at the amazing outdoor hearth fireplace. Or pop next door to the Tavern for a drink and some music.
