A large Villa, Chiusarella is set into the slopes of a small hill within the 'Villa D'Arceno' Estate, a one thousand hectare nature reserve. Once the home of those who worked the land for the landlord whose seat was the nearby 'Villa Arceno' built in 1671. The space Chiusarella has been renovated to high standards, and with modern conveniences, is now for those who wish to enjoy the relaxing calm of the Chianti countryside in luxury and comfort. Ideal for family groups or friends' ‘get togethers’. Overlooking the walled medieval village of San Gusmè, Chiusarella boasts a large patio area perfect for 'aperitivo al fresco'. A long wooden table under an extensive porch for breakfast or dinner perhaps, cooked on the large barbecue. Lunch may also be taken here, shaded from the midday sun or under the shade at the poolside terrace. The house is built in traditional 'Tuscan' style, stone with brick surrounds in doorways and openings. Chestnut beams and terracotta ceilings complete the scene. Elegantly and tastefully decorated and furnished, the house is light and airy. For chilly nights there are fireplaces in the television room, living room and kitchen to cosy up to. All but one of the bedrooms are on the upper floor, accessed by one flight of stairs. Each has the use of its own bathroom and there are insect screens on all the windows so fresh air can be had without uninvited guests. Ceiling fans and air-conditioning are also installed. Guest access Chiusarella's guests have exclusive use of the whole premises and grounds during their stay. From onsite cookery classes with a Tuscan chef; expert guided wine tours of Tuscany's exclusive wineries; horse riding amidst Villa Arceno's vineyards and cypress avenues; or a day at the 'Palio', the famous horse race in Siena, originating from medieval times. Other things to note Around the house are many seating areas from which to enjoy the views over San Gusmè, and the Chianti to the towers of Siena. To the South 'Le Crete', the famous Tuscan hills beloved of photographers and artists, (a UNESCO world heritage site). Surrounded by the forest, binoculars and cameras are a must for spotting birds, deer, porcupines and other wildlife. Smoking is not allowed in the buildings. Pets by arrangement.
