Location, location, location! Luxury 2 bed cottage with spectacular views of Cheddar Gorge from its own private balcony. Check out the photos! Located at the foot of Cheddar Gorge (in an elevated position to take full advantage of the views) this pretty, stone built cottage could not be better situated to explore all that Cheddar (and the rest of Somerset) offers. It has free Wifi, on-site parking and is dog friendly (up to 2 well-behaved dogs welcome). Please see other details before booking The space Sleeping 4 people and located at the foot of Cheddar Gorge, Highcroft will suit couples, small families (children must be over 12 years old, please) or a group of friends (of course, solo holidaymakers are very welcome too!) Please note however that, because of its elevated position, Highcroft is not suitable for those with limited mobility. Perfect for ramblers, cyclists, fishing enthusiasts (with Chew Valley lake and Blagdon lake nearby), bird watchers, rock climbers or photographers (the ever-changing scenery is fascinating) - or just relaxing in total comfort - Highcroft has all you need for a wonderful break from the norm. And do feel free to bring man's best friend! Up to 2 well-behaved dogs are welcome; with country walks starting just a stone's throw from the door, your doggy companions will be in heaven! Downstairs, this lovely property has a modern sitting room (with comfortable sofa bed), a bright kitchen diner, an understairs storage cupboard and a cloakroom (toilet and hand-basin). Upstairs you will find 1 x double bedroom, 1 x single bedroom and a shower room. There is plenty of cupboard space to store your clothes and belongings. A lockable storage area is also available outside. Both the kitchen and the sitting room have french doors opening out onto the decked balcony where those stunning views over Cheddar Gorge will become apparent - there really is no better place to watch the sun popping up over the Mendips, first thing in the morning. Highcroft also has its own private, enclosed, patio garden with waterfall and small pond - quite the nicest spot for a lazy lunch or to sit with a glass of wine (or three!) in the evenings. Guest access Shared gated parking for one car is available on the owner's drive with on-street parking available a short walk away. The cottage has its own private pedestrian access. Other things to note We accept weekly bookings during the peak summer season of May - September (inclusive) and changeover day is Saturday. Short breaks may also be available (outside of the peak summer for a minimum of 3 x nights (please note that Friday - Sunday = weekend nightly pricing). Please enquire before booking for short breaks and also for prices at Christmas. Cheddar is an easy taxi ride from Bristol airport and rail stations. For arrival by car from the M5 motorway, leave at junction 22 and follow the signs to Cheddar. From the A38, turn off onto the A371 signposted to Wells (this passes through Cheddar). Driving in the area is easy but a car is not essential once you arrive in Cheddar as there is a regular bus service during the day. The buses go to Wells - which operates as a bus transport hub for lots of places around the area and also to Weston Super Mare, which has a railway station from which you can easily travel further south or up to Bristol for onward links.
