Westhaven One is a ground floor apartment right in the heart of Aberdovey, opposite the Yacht Club and the beach, and close to local amenities. There isn’t a better location to be for those looking for a seaside escape. Set within the southern reaches of the Snowdonia National Park, excellent for those walkers visiting the area. Aberdovey is a thriving seaside fishing village with brightly painted houses which seem to cling to the shoreline and has a history dating back hundreds of years. The space Ground floor apartment beautifully furnished and decorated with a spacious lounge and dining area facing the beach, a well-appointed modern kitchen, one double bedroom with en-suite, one king sized bedroom , family bathroom with shower and bath, fabulously equipped kitchen, laundry facilities including washing machine and tumble dryer. FREE PARKING PERMIT FOR THE DURATION OF YOUR STAY! Saving you £7.50 per day at the beach car park. When you have collected your keys please use the left hand entrance to Westhaven. Once inside your apartment is situated straight ahead. Whenever you leave the apartment you will have to manually lock the door with the Yale key as it does not lock automatically. The boiler can be found in the ensuite bathroom above the toilet. There is always hot water available but you will need to turn the heating up whilst you are there. Please turn the thermostat down to 10oC when you leave. The fuse cupboard should anything trip is in the cupboard under the mirror in the hallway. Please feel free to use anything in the apartment including the deckchairs in the hall cupboard. There are spare quilts and pillows should you need them and cosy throws in the cupboard under the TV. We have a Tassimo coffee machine if you would like to bring coffee pods with you. There is a small grocery store ( where you pick up the keys) in the Village and also a Post Office and Spar up under the bridge towards the train station just past the car park. There is also a fabulous butchers ( their short back bacon and Laverbread sausage are first class!) and a deli on Copperhill Street. For larger grocery shops there is a Co-op in both Tywyn and Machynlleth that can arrange for your shopping to be delivered or you can do an online shop with Asda or Tesco. There is also a Pharmacy in the village should you need it. The nearest GP Surgery is in Tywyn. Things for you to do during your stay: . Go crabbing on the jetty... bait is available at the butchers, lifeboat station and the gift shops. • Try sea rowing at the rowing club at 10.00 Sat morning (take £3) • Walk along the beach until you reach Tywyn (4 miles) then find the Salt Marsh Cafe and treat yourself to a Burger and Cocktail, you've earned it! You can either walk back or hop on the train :) • Visit the Tourist Info museum on the front for a potted history of Aberdovey • Go to the Literary Institute out towards the Penhelig Arms on the opposite side of the road and read a book or use the free Wi-Fi overlooking the sea (wet days?) • Go to the Craft Centre at Corris and make candles and chocolate bars or taste their craft Gin! • Go to the Penhelig Arms and have a meal or a drink in the Fisherman’s bar • Opposite the Penhelig find The Roman Road - just walk along the lovely row of houses until you reach a gate to the park then walk along until you see a path along the beach it’s such a pretty walk with Roman steps cut into the rocks up to picnic island. • Enjoy a drink on the balcony at the Britannia watching the boats go by • Choose an ice-cream from the Pink ice-cream shop -you can ask for half and half if you like! • Walk along the beach to Tywyn - it’s around four miles there but so lovely there’s a great pub called the Victorian Slipway just as you reach Tywyn • Take the train to Harlech and see the castle and lovely little shops • Go to Magic Lantern cinema in Tywyn - it’s like stepping back in time! There's a fab restaurant called the Salt Marsh Kitchen nearby that do a pre-cinema set meal to die for! You'll need to book though . Treat yourself to a meal at Salt Marsh Kitchen it’s as close to Michelin food as you’ll find around this area! Simply delicious :) • Take the deck chairs down on to the beach for a picnic or Fish & Chips • Play Tennis, Crazy Golf, Shuffleboard, Table Tennis or Quoits at the municipal park in Tywyn • Eat at Blasau (The Royal House) in Machynlleth - lovely little black and white painted deli/coffee shop right by Charlie’s Emporium just past the clock tower their Crab Rarebit is delicious • Visit old curiosity shops (& Ian Snow shop) in Machynlleth • Go to swimming pool in Tywyn - they do family float fun sessions • Jump off the jetty (you’ve not really visited if you don’t do this!) • Go and see the waterfalls at Dolgoch you can pick up the Tal-y-Llyn railway in Tywyn to Abergynolwyn which passes over the path to the falls. It’s a beautiful walk but not suitable for very small children or pushchairs as there are some steep drops. • Go to the Honey Ice Cream shop in Tywyn . Visit Machynlleth on Wednesday it’s market day and the town is buzzing! • Have a latte at the Medina Coffee shop (up the little alley next to the Pharmacy) or No 8 on the corner of Copperhill St which has nice little gifts . Get the train or drive to Fairbourne ( check times at the station) and eat at Indiana it’s just across from the station and is beautiful authentic Indian cuisine you’ll need to book ahead Guest access Please collect the keys from the Aberdovey Village Stores a few doors along on the front. If you intend arrive to after 5pm please let us know so we can arrange key collection for you.
