Gogwell is beautifully situated on top of a hill at the end of a long drive with huge south facing views onto open countryside. It's an extremely comfortable, well-configured house for family holidays, corporate groups & get togethers -perfect as a base to stay, or from which to explore beautiful Devon. Oak floors, open fires, Aga warmth, comfy beds, cosy sofas, books/games, verandah, yoga barn, huge pool, croquet lawn, games, accessible room, dog friendly. Optional Hot Tub please enquire. The space Gogwell is in such a uniquely beautiful location that guests just love it. The whole house focuses on the sheltered verandah and the huge uninterrupted views which give such a sense of space and peace. It’s a great place for reconnecting with friends, for family gatherings but also for just resting in and soaking up the bliss that is Devon! The internal space is very cosy with 2 open fires & 1 wood-burning stove and the Aga adds to kitchen's warmth and homeliness. There are 7 main really comfortable bedrooms usually configured as 5 superkings and 2 twins (but can be altered) and an 8th bedroom through the master en suite with two 2’3 beds really intended for children. There is an outdoor heated pool in the summer, a pingpong room, croquet lawn and large fenced garden -great for children & dogs, there are walks in all directions, some great cycling routes. Please see the guide to the area for details of things to do in the area - many people never leave Gogwell. We can arrange cooks & food deliveries so it feels like a proper escape & holiday. Guest access Gogwell is a Devon long house, at then end of a half mile drive in the middle of a farm. It is quiet, secluded and peaceful while also being easily accessible and is perfectly situated for exploring the best of Devon, Exmoor, the North Devon Coast. There are lovely walks from the house including to Butterleigh Pub and down to Colliepriest and along the Exe to Bickleigh Bridge. Cyclists love it - but it is hilly. We can arrange Salmon or trout fishing on our 3 mile stretch of the Exe. This stretch goes from Colliepriest to Blackbridge Dulverton & Exeter 30 mins away, Tiverton/ Blundells 4mins The house itself has a large garden- great for children, an orchard & far-reaching views. It is for the exclusive use of guests during their stay. Other things to note Table tennis, croquet, darts, badminton, boules, rounders, swing ball, & gorgeous heated swimming pool in the summer, table football and lovely oak floored yoga barn for exercise. There is also an accessible room on the ground floor. Optional large Hot Tub and optional gym.
