CHANTILLY - Country Inn
Your home away from home on the Mendocino Coast. This 1890's residence in the heart of Fort Bragg, has been beautifully and thoughtfully renovated. It's Just steps away from downtown shops, restaurants, North Coast Brewery, Glass Beach, and the Skunk Train. And just a short drive from Mendocino, wineries, hiking and biking trails, kayaking, and numerous other outdoor activities. Due to our prolonged closer from COVID-19 restrictions, we have made some changes please be aware: We now only have 4 guest rooms available for rent. We no longer included breakfast with our room rate. There is no longer a hot tub accessible to guests. Guests do have access to a shared living room space, front deck, and outside spaces. All rooms have their own mini-fridge, microwave, hot water kettle, pour over coffee, and tea. There is off street parking behind the Inn for guests. Owners live on site and are easily reachable by phone or text if needed. Chantilly, is a romantic "shabby chic" (smaller) queen-size room with private bathroom and walk-in shower. It's located downstairs, towards the front of the house. Chantilly is ideal for couples or singles who want a special pampered feel, but are looking to spend a bit less. Not well suited to those who want to sleep late, as some carry over ambient conversation and laughter may be heard from the shared guest living room, nearby. Guests have access to a refrigerator, microwave, round the clock hot beverages, parking, WiFi, eating utensils/plates/glasses/bottle openers etc., our garden area and front deck. The owner and Innkeeper, Christine, lives on site and is available almost 24/7 should guests have questions or a late night emergency. However, we give our guests all the privacy and personal space possible. The Country Inn is close to everything! North Coast Brewing Company is just a block and a half south on main street. Just past that, the entire down awaits - shops, restaurants, the Guest House Museum, Tattoo Museum, and art galleries. We are also just a few minutes' walk from the famous Glass Beach, and the new Coastal Trail. McKerricur State Park and Russian Gulch State Park and the Point Cabrillo Light House are also close by and are guest favorites. Other nearby activities include; hiking, bicycle rental, horseback riding, photography, fishing, crabbing, whale watching, abalone diving, the Mendocino Coast Botanical Gardens, the Redwoods and the Drive-thru Tree. There is no public transportation on the North Cost, though there are services for wine tours. Upon request, we can also recommend some local "uber" like drivers. Unplug for a day or two - you'll be surprised how good it feels! We do not have TV's in our rooms. There are many reasons for this, but the main reason is that it preserves this 1890's residence as a quiet retreat. Enjoy a romantic evening with your sweetheart, get some much needed rest, play a game of cards, chess, or monopoly, and do it in peace. You won't be listening to your neighbors TV late into the night. And, if you absolutely can't leave the hustle and bustle of the modern world for a day or two, we have fast and dependable Wifi available. There are also several bars, including North Coast Brewing Company, within walking distance that show your favorite sporting events.
