Welcome to the lower Vogelsberg in the Alte Schule Wettges, idyllically located in the 80-inhabitant district of Birstein, surrounded by green meadows and forests, a beautiful distant view and directly on the Vogelsberger Südbahn cycling path. Our listed and newly renovated house is in a quiet location and has a large cozy garden with seating and barbecue facilities, free Wi-Fi and parking directly at the house. The accommodation can accommodate up to 14 people. The space Apartment "Studienratssuite" for 2-6 people: The apartment on the first floor consists of 2 bedrooms each with a double bed, a bathroom with shower and toilet and a large living room with a wood stove for the cozy evening hours. Here you will also find the new and very well equipped kitchen perfect for an extensive breakfast or cooking evenings, a large dining table as well as a living area with couch and a TV. The couch can be used as a sofa bed if needed. Apartment "Schwalbennest" for 2-6 people: The apartment on the second floor (attic) offers a bedroom with double bed and a pull-out double bed. If both beds are used, they can be separated by a curtain for a little more privacy. In addition, the apartment consists of a bathroom with shower and toilet, as well as a living room with a large glass front that offers fantastic distant views, especially for sunrise. Here, too, you will find a new and very well equipped kitchen to be able to provide yourself perfectly, a dining table as well as a couch and a TV. The couch can be used as a sofa bed if needed. For sporting activities we have 4 bikes, a badminton set, boules and a table tennis table ready for you. There are also plenty of lockable storage options for your own bicycles. For the cozy barbecue evening, our covered outdoor seating with gas grill in the school yard is ideal. If you want to end the day comfortably with a good book, conversations or a drink outside, make yourselves comfortable in our philosopher's cottage. By arrangement and appropriate weather conditions, a bonfire in the fire bowl in the garden is also possible. If you want to stay in the garden, a rustic shepherd's wagon is available for one person on request. Marked hiking trails and the Vogelsberger Südbahnradweg, connected to a wide network of bike paths are right outside the front door. For example, connect your bike tour with a cooling off in one of the swimming lakes or in the outdoor swimming pool, explore small medieval towns in the region, conquer the hills of the Hoher Vogelsberg Nature Park and strengthen yourself on the way in one or the other cafe or inn along the way. For example, children are certainly particularly looking forward to the summer toboggan run and the climbing park at Hoherodskopf, or also the stalactite cave and the amusement park in Steinau.
