The Old Barn

The Old Barn is a fully equipped Yorkshire Dales holiday cottage in the charming village of Reeth, Swaledale. This holiday cottage is tucked away in a peaceful location at the heart of Reeth just off the village green and in very close proximity to the local amenities including cafes, gift shops, post office and three pubs. The space This holiday cottage has a large multi-fuel fire in the open plan living room / kitchen / diner which creates a toasty, welcoming atmosphere and the perfect ambiance to relax after an action packed day. There is also a flat screen TV with Freeview in the living area and free WiFi throughout the cottage. The kitchen is well equipped with plenty of work and storage space. There are two comfortable bedrooms – one double with en-suite WC and basin and one twin – perfect for a family of four, a group of friends or even two couples holidaying together. The family bathroom comprises of a white three piece with shower over the bath. If you are wishing to explore the area then this dales holiday cottage is in a very convenient location. Reeth borders Arkengarthdale to the north east and Wensleydale is a short drive to the west. There is also excellent walking in the area that can be accessed straight from the doorstep from easy and peaceful walks along the River Swale or through wild flower meadows to the more challenging hikes up Fremington Edge, Calver Hill and Harkerside. Or, perhaps you just wish to get away form the hustle and bustle of everyday life. If so, then look no further as Reeth is a perfect place to relax. It also is home to three pubs, a restaurant, cafés, a gift shop, a post office and a corner shop should you need any refreshments. There is also local crafts centre showcasing a handful of the local, talented artists and fantastic bakery. The Old Barn is a dog friendly holiday cottages, up to two well behaved dog welcome. The cottage is heated throughout via gas central heating To ensure your stay is as comfortable as possible all kitchen linen, bed linen and towels are provided and the gas, electricity and initial supply of fuel for the multi fuel stove is included in the rental price. The front door enters into the porch with an area to hang coats on the left. Straight ahead is the open plan kitchen / dining / living area, to the right is the stairs to the first floor. The open plan kitchen / dining / living room is spacious. There is also access to the garden through the rear door accessed from the dining area. Upstairs is 1 double bedroom with en-suite including a WC and Basin, 1 twin bedroom with 2 single beds, a family bathroom which includes a WC, basin and bath with shower over. 1 Double Bedroom 1 Twin Bedroom (2 Single Beds) To the rear of the cottage is an enclosed and secure garden with a medium size patio area, ideal for dining alfresco or simply soaking up some country air. There is also a private drive for two cars. Bike storage is available in a secure, padlocked, outhouse. Guest access The property is not wheelchair accessible. There is one small step to access the cottage. There is a standard staircase to the first floor with a sturdy handrail. The bathroom has a bath with a shower over, so you do need to step over the bath side to use the shower. If you have any specific needs, please contact us, we are happy to answer any questions. Other things to note 1. No Smoking in the house please. 2. Please be courteous to the neighbours. 3. This is a dog friendly cottage, and we want your dog to enjoy their holiday too! Please can we request that you do not allow your dog on the furniture or in the beds and please to not leave your dog unattended in the cottage. 4. We respectfully remind you and your party to take due care and attention when staying in this cottage. It would be appreciated if you could leave the cottage as you found it, with all furniture replaced to their original locations. 5. In the unfortunate event of an accident-causing damage to the property please report this immediately to the Property Manager. Please note that any damage may have to be paid for. 6. Please have fun but, no parties please 7. The person making the booking must be over 21 years of age and be present for the duration of the dates booked. 8. Please be respectful of the shared driveway and park on the right hand side. Additional Notes: Please do not remove the back door (garden) key from the lock. Please leave the bike store key on the main key ring. Don't forget to leave the keys in the key safe on departure. Please use the fire guard when the wood burner is in operation. Please do not interfere with the external LP gas tanks in any way.
