This 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house is perfect for large or extended families looking to relax and enjoy a few days away but still close to restaurants and other activities. Spend your days with STEP FREE access to a wide and clean sandy beach, evenings with picturesque sunsets and nights by the fire. Truly a hidden gem in Northwest Indiana. The space Enjoy your morning coffee lounging on our large deck under the canopy of towering pine trees. Spend the day swimming at the beach and then head back to cook great gourmet meals in our new, fully equipped kitchen and enjoy the conversation around our 8 seater round table. After dinner, gather around our fire pit for smores under the colors of the beautiful Lake Michigan sunset, or catchup in our breezy, screened-in sunroom. Beach Access Across the street from the house is the Sheridan Beach Stop 11 access path. The path is about 200 yards through natural sand dune vegetation to the wide, clean, sandy beach. This is step-free access (NO STAIRS) to the water - it is a nice and easy walk in both directions and you can see why people have been coming here for a hundred years to just about the best beach in the Midwest. We provide a beach wagon to haul coolers / gear and we have four chairs for your use along with a bunch of sand toys and even a kite! Its close enough to make multiple trips if needed. Guest access Sleeping Quarters We have three bedrooms each with its own feel, all with blackout curtains for late risers. There is a bright and cozy front bedroom that sleeps two in a queen size bed with views of the lake. Our middle room sleeps two in twin bunk beds and has a comfy bean bag chair and a built in work station for a little work or games. The main bedroom has a king size bed and a private ensuite full bathroom. Kitchen and Baths The kitchen and both bathrooms were fully renovated within the last 2 years with a modern and luxury feel. In the kitchen, we have all the utensils, cookware, plates to prepare breakfast, lunch and dinner for your entire group. Our kitchen has full size refrigerator with ice maker, full size dishwasher, five burner oven range, full size microwave, coffee maker and toaster. We provide dishwasher soap, paper towels and hand soap for your stay and light cleaning products. Each bathroom has fullsize tub and shower and we provide shampoo, conditioner, and body wash for your stay. Outdoor Spaces We updated our outdoor spaces in 2022 so you can enjoy our spacious new deck with two double chaise loungers and club chairs. For outdoor dining, we have a propane grill in our open air pavilion and enjoy alfresco dining around our 10’ table and designer chairs. On our side yard we have a play set, soccer net, sandbox, open a pace for kids to play and to have a fire at night. We provide firewood for your stay. Other things to note - 400 MB Wifi - Free parking for 3 cars (4 if the vehicles are small) - 2 HD TVs both with Roku streaming services - Keyless entry - Firewood provided (within reason please). - No Laundry at this time (sorry the basement is not ready). Please contact us if you're staying 5+ nights, as we can make exceptions. - Central Air throughout - Bath towels and bed linens provided (please do not take to beach) - 6-8 beach towels provided - Black out curtains. - Extra pillows and blankets available in middle bedroom - No EV charging Kids Stuff We have small children and we keep our house with them in mind. We have a Pack & Play onsite and a Bumbo high chair seat. We keep cabinet locks in the kitchen drawers and we have a wide selection of games, activities and sand toys. We have kids plates and cups for worry free eating and we also keep a spare twin mattress under the bunk beds you can pull out, if needed, for a small child not comfortable on the top bunk. We added a playground for kids in our side yard. Feel free to use. We have a tree house on the property which is open for use, but with small children, please use your discretion on if this is appropriate. Down the street from the house is the Washington Park Zoo and a number of playgrounds. Within short driving distances there are a number of orchards and berry farms for picking apples, blueberries, etc. Michigan City has a skate board part nearby and several other past times for the older kids.
