A beautifully renovated and decorated cottage, with care for the exposed wooden beams, Chestnut flooring and exposed stone walls. Located in Guemene, originally founded in 1090, owned by the Rohan family until 1791 until the end of that century! Masses to explore! The house - a modern kitchen, a shower bathroom, separate powder room and a bath-tub bathroom, all with electric radiant heating Beds for 6 adults - 2 separate bedrooms and 2 single bed alcove beds with quality mattresses and duvets. The space Romance, comfort, mod cons like dishwasher. washng machine, WiFi etc, in an 3-level stone cottage, in a wonderfully central location in S. Brittany. Guemene has a private walled courtyard with 2 patios to catch the sun! This ancient market town was originally the ducal seat of the Rohan's in the Middle Ages...explore the area or drive to the many glorious beaches 40 mins away! The village has a number of restaurants, boulangeries, banks and a huge supermarket, all within walking distance of the house. Weekly rates include a Welcome basket, all linens and towels, a starter pack of household items, outside patio umbrellas, a BBQ and 4 adult bikes to cycle in the immediate countryside or along the canals. Guest access The cottage is in a great position to explore the many historic villages nearby as well as numerous beaches and oyster farms about 40 mins. drive away. Its the best of both worlds. Weekly markets are held in Guemene and many surrounding towns. Recommend a car to explore this historic area, the forests and fishing lakes.. Parking is on the street right outside the cottage Guemene is vibrant listed Petit Character village with every type of shop and restaurant as well as a Thursday seafood market. Guests have the option to be late arrivals and call our local housekeeper who lives nearby either to meet her, or for the code to the lockbox at the rear of the house, to find for keys to the house - a guest follow-up will occur the next day. There is masses of local info in the house and a dedicated Tourist Office in the village, within walking distance. Other things to note At the end of a day of exploring, nothing is more satisfying than sitting in the walled garden on either patio, with an ice cold Breton cider in hand, contemplating a short walk up the high street to one of the local Creperies...the crepe St Jacques (scallops) is mouthwatering! The Intermarche supermarket is closed on a Sunday, but, just up the high street, a smaller Proxi supermarket is open until midday on Sunday. There are a number of bank machines at various banks. Petrol is available 24/7 outside the Intermarche supermarket.
