THE LOCAL AREA: Hengistbury Head is a natural scenic area of Headland between Bournemouth and Christchurch. It is an area of outstanding beauty with far reaching views of Christchurch Harbour, Mudeford, the Isle of Wight, Poole Bay and Bournemouth. A scenic land train (known as the Noddy train) makes regular journeys from the cafe to the end of the spit, a journey of ten or so minutes. The Hengistbury Head visitor centre offers a variety of activities for all ages and abilities. Wick Village is walking distance away for riverside walks and boating activities, a public slipway and 3-par golf course and driving range. In Wick Village is Tuckton Tea Gardens, a crazy golf pitch, river boat hire and ferries that will take you to Christchurch Quay.
