This secluded traditional farmhouse with its 10x5m private pool, set in its own 4000m² grounds, is nestled between vineyards and the river Aude. Relax on the sun-drenched south facing terraces with a locally produced chilled rose wine, enjoy a swim in the pool, pick fresh figs from our trees, and end the day with a barbecue on the tiled terraces. This is a large house, in unspoiled rural France, in the heart of wine-making country. It has been sympathetically restored, retaining tiled floors and oak beams in many rooms. Many of the bedrooms have antique French furniture. The TV is connected to the internet for UK channels. There is a table tennis table In the large garage. The rear gardens lead to the River Aude. Large south facing terraces run along the front and side of the house, surrounding the private pool, with tables, chairs, sunbeds and parasols, so you can eat (and drink) outdoors in peace and comfort. Drinks can be kept cold in the convenient pool house fridge, and there is also a sound system installed around the pool. Most rooms have original oak beams, and tiled floors. All rooms have wooden shutters, which can be left ajar during the day to keep the rooms cool in even the hottest weather. Three double bedrooms (two with ensuite shower rooms) and two twin bedrooms, family bathroom, and a wet room downstairs. Large, comfortably furnished open plan living room with original beams, tiled floor and wood burning stove, there are settees and a dining table, with internet TV and DVD/CD player. The fully equipped kitchen includes a range cooker, dishwasher and microwave, with washing machine, freezer and extra fridge in a separate utility room. The house is 2.5km north of Coursan, giving you peace and quiet, and within a short drive or bike ride of all local facilities. For the more adventurous, you can fish in the river, or venture further afield to explore the Cathar Castles, while away a day by the Canal du Midi or visit the many wine producing chateaux to seek out your favourite wine. The house is ideal for exploring the Languedoc region, Cathar Country and visiting the Mediterranean beaches. Other things to note We take a £350 security deposit to cover against breakages and excess cleaning on departure. Arrival check in is at 1600, departure time at 1000. All bed linen and indoor towels are supplied.
