Other things to note Beaches and lagoon:   The island's most famous and beautiful beach is 500 m from the house. On the other side of the island, in Haapiti, 20 minutes by car, you reach the second most popular beach by the Hotel des Tipaniers (HQ of Kite Surf aficionados, lessons available on site) – Take advantage of a place for lunch at the "Coco Beach" snack bar (by reservation preferred), on one of the two motus opposite, feet in the water, spend the day! or at the "Mahana" snack bar on the sea side near Beachcomber Parkroyal. Between the bays, Cook and Opunohu (10 minutes by car), is another very beautiful beach. Mountains and rivers:   The house is located between sea and mountain, and the island of Moorea is famous for the majesty of its peaks, its 2 bays, Cook and Opunohu. In the morning, at the earliest, stop at the KAVEKA hotel, to admire Cook's Bay from the end of the pontoon. Then descend this bay to take the interior route (pineapple route) between the 2 bays and enter the heart of the crater now dotted with pineapple fields and various fruit trees; cows and horses are part of the landscape; this part of the island shelters a ranch (horseback riding of 2 hours or 1/2 day), a tree climbing course, the "TIKI PARC", the agricultural high school which offers its products (tasting of fruit juice, jams… Visit of their plantations) - hike of the "3 coconut trees" from the high school. Join the Belvedere to enjoy the view of the 2 bays, and en route, stop at the "marae", ancient Polynesian sites (starting point for an easy hike, that of the 'ancestors'). Then descend by the second bay of Opunohu. 4 km from the ferry dock, the village of Afareaitu: turn right just before the Town Hall, to access the waterfalls. Shops:   For general food, 600m after the "CHAMPION" ferry dock, in Maharepa 4km "Hyper U Rémy" the "Self Service" in Maharepa, and "Hyper U Are" at the bottom of Cook's Bay. At 4pm, meet at the small port of Pao Pao (Cook's Bay) where fishermen sell their fish.
