Walk to the beach! 3 interconnected cabins perched on a hill with amazing ocean views! A well-designed complex of comfortable rustic pine cabins in true Nicaraguan style. Casa Malinche 15 min from San Juan, is a place to enjoy nature, beach and learn to surf. The space You got the entire house! Accommodation is for 6 people and the setup is perfect for couples and one or two families. The first level has the social areas with a “Great Room” (open concept kitchen, dining, living) overlooking the ocean and opening into the main deck with lounge chairs and a “hammock portico". The kitchen is fully equipped - gas stove/oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, blender, espresso and regular coffee maker, pots and pans, utensils, dishes and cutlery. Although there is running water, we provide a 5-gallon bottled water for cooking and drinking. There is also a charcoal (provided) grill ready for you. You only need to bring your consumables. We have just built a new terrace with a lovely pergola. Additional stairs connect to the hilly terrace gardens and the top lookout deck to enjoy sundowners. So, yes lots of stairs to keep you fit while enjoying the views. Two additional bedroom levels invite to the quieter, private areas. The main stairs take you to the second level balcony with two bedrooms and a shared bathroom. Bedroom 2 and 3 have two (2) twin beds each that can be joined together (if desired). The 3rd level takes you to the master bedroom (King-size bed) with en-suite bathroom, private porch and balcony overlooking the ocean. All bedrooms are well appointed with comfortable beds, linens, pillows, towels and beach towels. Bathrooms include hair dryer, hand wash soap, shower gel and a 1L water bottle. Plenty of screened windows provide natural cross ventilation with ceiling fans in every room. Balconies and terraces come furnished with a combination of hammocks, swings, lounging chairs, tall tables/chairs to sit around and check out sunsets. Guest access A downhill trail will take you to the beach. If you prefer you can also access it by driving through the public road. You can have a refreshing rinse back at the house in the 3rd level private outdoor showers. Right on the beach are a couple of food shacks, with lounging chairs, cold beers and great fish tacos. You can also arrange private surfing lessons including board rentals. Other things to note Casa Malinche cabins, decks and gardens are built on terraces connected by stairs, It is a place to unplug (no cell signal) But, we now have Wifi so you can do WhatsApp / Zoom video/audio calls at all times. Bring your laptop and you can have your Netflix/Prime Video fix. We also offer a MagicJack phone set up for free calls to US and Canada. Casa Malinche is the perfect place for the selective nature minded traveler. You, who loves adventure and sandy beaches away from the crowds. Noisy birds start visiting early in the morning - chocoyos, pijules, zanates, urracas! Little crabs, little green lizards and frogs may walk with you day & night… Sunsets are spectacular. A full moon setting down the bay is a sight to wonder. The night stars will have you looking at constellations you've heard about, but never found the time to discover. The sounds of frogs, wind and ocean waves will lull you into sleep. We love food, wine and entertaining. Our kitchen is set up with all the basic necessities to cook and enjoy company. We love the charcoal grill for fresh seafood. We hope it will help you improvise wonderful cooking adventures. A seasonal patch of cherry tomatoes, fresh herbs - mint, oregano, culantro, basil, thyme and anise, may give you some inspiration. We love driving to San Juan to get our fresh catch of the day (red snapper, lobster, shrimps...). A trip to the market for vegetables and a mad rush to el Pali (local grocery store) for general stuff typically completes the foraging. You can also drive to Rivas, to the new La Colonia supermarket for upscale shopping or Maxi Pali superstore for a better selection (ie: sun protector lotion).
