We are overlooking playa Hermosa and so called Whale Tale. There are playa Arco, Pinuela, Playa Ventana, Dominicalito, Dominical, Coconut groove, Matapalo, Chaman. Most of the beaches are year around superb surfing beaches. We are also surfing almost daily. Playa Dominical is world known and has a regular surf competitions. The pacific is extremely worm. There is a black Vulcanic super fine send on all the beaches and reef that is keeping the water very worm whole year. You can see 2 types of whales 7 months a year actually from our terrace (with a telescope). There are also beaches more safe for swimming. The beaches in the low season are almost empty (June – August). Through the high season (December – May) it gets “crowded” over the weekends when the local people come from main city for a beach and are camping close to any water. You will arrive to San Jose airport. It is 3,5 hour drive from the airport. We can arrange a pick up for you or you can rent a car at the airport. If you arrive during a day time, you can fly via small local airlines to airport Quepos (Sansa airline) for approx. USD 100.- one way ticket. Quepos airport is 30 min from our villas. After you can rent a car in 5km away small town UVITA. We are located 1km above the main road and beach on the steep hill with unpaved road. 4x4 CAR IS NECESSERY The most cost-effective is to rent any small SUV with 4x4. Having a car will also get you to many of the surrounding “attractions”, to a supermarket or to the beaches. Usual cost of a rental car are USD 150/day including insurance (Costa Rica is somehow strict and expensive on the insurance policy and is adding quite a bit of costs to the rental price). It is good to book the car well in advance as mainly through the high season it is overbooked. Please note we are in the open jungle. We have bed mosquito net, but if you are afraid of insects, it is not for you.
