PLEASE NOTE: we are not wheelchair accessible! Interior doors to bathroom and bedrooms are 28” wide. Guest space is 1904 sf, all ground level, no stairs or steps. We live on upper floor with separate entry, and will be available if needed by text. Your living space is self contained. We may meet occasionally when outside in the garden or yard. Very quiet, private, and beautiful. Driveway is over 6/10 of a mile long. Surrounded by mountains, woods and farmland. Some of our neighbors raise bison, elk, turkeys, Percheron horses and chickens, all of which occasionally roam on the property. Renters will need their own vehicle. NOTE! We love our Alaska State Fair vendors! When you book with us for the state fair, I’ll share with you the best/most convenient way to receive your shipments. You’ll learn that we live in a great location to take advantage of “the back way” to the fairgrounds to avoid heavy traffic. When you arrive, I will personally escort you to the fairgrounds, take you to the fair office to pick up your paperwork/parking passes/vendor admission tickets. I’ll then take you to your booth location and connect you with expeditors. I’ll give you a personal walk around tour of the grounds to orient you in food booths, bathrooms, best gates and parking. And when you come home each night after a long, chaotic day of hard work, you’ll have peace and quiet, a great shower (or tub if you would like to soak), and a comfy memory foam bed to curl up in. 💙 QUIET TIME is between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM. NOTE: Check out time on Sundays is before 10:30 AM. PLEASE NOTE: we are not wheelchair accessible! Interior doors to bathroom and bedrooms are 28” wide. All one level, no stairs or steps. Please do not leave the kitchen unattended when the stove is on! Only the number of guests who are accounted for in the reservation can stay. When walking on trails around the property, your chances of seeing wildlife are high. It's best to see them from a distance. For your safety, please sing, talk or make some kind of frequent noise. This will alert the moose in the area of your approach. Always be alert of your surroundings. Moose, especially momma moose, are NOT docile like cattle. They can be very dangerous. More folks are killed in Alaska by moose than by bears (both very rare, and usually if they are caught by surprise and/or have babies with them). If you see a moose, stop walking. Then slowly turn and walk back from where you came. If a moose's ears are down flat against his/her head, he/she is agitated and may charge. May and June are particularly noteworthy, as this is calving season. It is a good idea to keep your cell phone with you when you are in the woods. Please note that the fence around the vegetable garden is electric, and delivers quite a shock if touched. We have a golden retriever named Leia. She is an outdoor dog, and if she sees you coming up the driveway she will greet you. No need to fear; she loves people to pieces and just wants to play. She is not allowed in the rental space.
