Welcome to Rock Haven Cottage! Located in beautiful McGraths Cove just minutes from iconic Peggy’s Cove. This beautiful 2 bedroom 1 bath cottage can accommodate 6 adults comfortably with 2 queen beds (1 per bedroom) and a sofa bed that converts into a spacious & comfortable king bed. Province of Nova Scotia Tourist Accommodations Registry 2025-2026 # STR-2526A6138 The space Rock Haven Cottage faces the Atlantic Ocean near the entrance to McGraths Cove - boasting its own private wharf & floating dock to swim, paddle board & kayak from. Like to stay on land? No problem! We have 2 double hammocks overlooking the ocean along with comfortable patio furniture, a picnic table, ocean-side sitting area, and a fire pit area with additional chairs. Also, there are lawn games & 2 sun loungers great for an oceanside nap. Rock Haven Cottage also has a 24 x 8 covered deck that’s great for taking in a beautiful sunrise or enjoying your favourite drink! Just imagine - looking over the Atlantic Ocean and granite coastline on your private deck while sipping your morning coffee - trust us, it’s as relaxing as it sounds. The cottage is fully equipped for long-term stays with a fully functioning kitchen. You’ll find a 2 burner propane cooktop, large retro style fridge & freezer, toaster oven/air fryer, Keurig, and all cooking utensils, pots, pans, and accessories you could ever need during your vacation by the sea. Like to cook outside? We have a brand new Napolean BBQ with a side burner. For ease of use, the BBQ is fed propane directly from the cottage’s propane tanks, also ensuring that you’ll never run out while you’re grilling! Rock Haven Cottage has a full bathroom with a spacious walk-in glass shower and large vanity. Enjoy a relaxing night's sleep in either of the 2 queen beds which are found in either bedroom or if you are a party of 5-6 the sofa in the living room can be converted into an expansive king bed. For your enjoyment we have an 11-foot Stand Up Paddleboard (SUP) and 2 kayaks available for your use. Relax and take in the sunshine oceanside in the comfortable loungers on the private wharf deck, a great spot to read a book or have a drink! The floating dock has a ladder system for easy in/out when taking a swim. Notes: *at low tide the water is quite shallow, we highly recommend that you never dive off the floating dock at low tide. Adult Life Jackets are available. *Our family worked very hard to build and design this cottage, we kindly ask that you respect the cottage, property, and its contents so we can keep the cottage in a very clean & functioning order. Please leave all of the cottage’s interior contents inside, do not put cottage items in the ocean. We also ask guests to keep the cottage as clean as possible during their stay. Thank you! We kindly ask that guests respect the cottage boundaries and only use the shared driveway for entering and exiting the cottage by vehicle only. The shared driveway is used by 2 houses nearby, and we ask that speeds do not exceed 10km/h as to respect neighbours. Guests may bring a boat to the cottage, however there is no public boat launch available (all private in McGraths Cove) and there is very limited space for trailers greater than 16ft. The nearest public boat launch would be found at the Johnny Mitchell Memorial Park in Bayside. A cottage map outlining the boundaries will be provided to each guest before their arrival. Other things to note Rock Haven Cottage is located near Peggy’s Cove, NS, so it is important to note that there are only gas stations at the beginning of Prospect Road (28km from the cottage) or Irving near the intersection of St. Margaret’s Bay Rd & Peggys Cove Road in Tantallon (35km from the cottage). Don’t forget to fuel up! It takes approximately 30 minutes to drive to/from Halifax. There are several wonderful restaurants nearby the cottage including Shaw's Landing, The Sou'Wester Restaurant & Gift Shop, Rhubarb, Cafe L’Acadie and more! Pizza shops and food trucks are nearby too. Prospect Foods on Prospect Bay Road and The Whales Back Country Store offer local convenience for grocery needs and alcohol. The Whales Back is just beyond Peggy's Cove and also offers a gift shop and freshly baked breads. Looking for lobster?
