Located in the heart of the Chihuahuan Desert, this tiny 10x12 cabin with sleeping loft offers a peaceful retreat with unbeatable views of the Milky Way, just 25 minutes from the west entrance of Big Bend National Park and 25 minutes from Terlingua Ghost Town. _________________________ Drive Times: ★ Big Bend National Park (west entrance): 25 minutes ★ Study Butte (gas): 18 minutes ★ Terlingua Ghosttown: 25 minutes ★ Easily accessible with a standard 2wd vehicle _____________________________________________ About Us: This tiny studio is designed for those who love simplicity, nature, and an unforgettable desert experience. Inside, you’ll find all the essentials, including two twin beds with a queen bed in the loft (bring your own bedding), a propane wall heater for chilly nights, and a small outdoor cooking area with a propane cooktop. We DO have: ✔ WiFi ✔ Limited electricity ✔ Fans ✔ Shaded porch ✔ Outdoor propane cooktop ✔ Compost toilet ✔ Outdoor Shower with Solar Bag We DO NOT have: ✘ Bed linens, personal linens, pillows ✘ Drinking water ✘ Flush toilet ✘ AC ✘ Cleaning Service ________________________________________ Cleaning: This is a self clean rental! Please do your part to keep this space super nice/clean and super affordable. We charge a $32 fee to help cover a property inspector (not cleaner). In return, you will need to clean up after yourself. We provide instructions in the cabin. This is about 20 minutes worth of work and saves you a lot of money. Help us make this world a better place, and leave *everywhere* better than you found it. ★ IMPORTANT: This is a self-cleaning rental. We ask that you clean the cabin before leaving to keep it in top shape for the next guests. A $75 cleaning fee will be charged if cleaning isn’t completed. ★ _____________________________________________ Bathroom & Water: For bathroom facilities, we have a composting outhouse on site - eco-friendly and odor-free! Guests are responsible for disposing of waste, and we ask that you follow the provided instructions to ensure proper disposal. If this setup isn’t for you, please explore other options in the area. ★IMPORTANT: Guests who don’t dispose of waste properly will be charged a $75 waste removal fee.★ Water: Please bring your own drinking water, as we do not provide it. ____________________________________________ Outdoor Cooking & Fire: There is plenty of room to enjoy the outdoors at Milky Way Run. We provide a large covered Pilot Rock charcoal grill for cooking—just bring your own charcoal. An outdoor cooking area with a 2-burner propane cooktop is available for meal prep. When it comes to enjoying the desert night, we ask that you keep your fires small and safe for everyone. Firewood is limited in the area, so please bring your own if you plan to have a fire. _______________________________________ Things to Know: Tiny Space, Big Views: The cabin is compact—10x12, perfect for two people in 2 twin beds. There is also a small sleeping loft above that houses a queen sized mattress, perfect for smaller and more agile people. Bring the Essentials: • Bedding: Twin sheet sets (2 twin beds), sleeping bags, and warm bedding for chilly desert nights. Queen sheets and appropriate bedding if utilizing the sleeping loft. • Towels, pillows, toilet paper, dish soap, and any other camping gear you might need. _____________________________________________ Summer in the Desert: • Hot Weather Alert: Summers in the desert can be sweltering, with temps rising to 100°F (38°C) and beyond. The cabin doesn't have AC, so please be prepared for heat, especially from May to August. • Monsoon Season: During summer, we experience monsoons that bring refreshing afternoon rain showers. These are a beautiful and cooling part of desert life—just be prepared to witness the weather shift dramatically! _____________________________________________ Guest access You will have access to the entire 10 acre property. You will be provided a check-in code 3 days prior to arrival. ★ Please do not take any rocks or fossils from the property (or anywhere else). Leave them there for others to find. Take a picture and enjoy the memory! _____________________________________________ Other things to note --> NO SMOKING ALLOWED INSIDE CABIN . Please dispose of cigarettes responsibly; don't litter. --> Please do not have large fires - keep them small and safe for the people and wildlife around you. --> Please enjoy your stay close to the cabin but leave the desert undisturbed. No digging of cactus or plants is allowed. Leave rocks and fossils where you found them; take lots of pictures! --> Please be considerate of others in the area. No bright lights, and no loud noises.
