The Fisherman’s Cabin was constructed incorporating reclaimed wood, doors, window and details from a 1914 salmon cannery in Kenai. It is a perfect blend of rustic nostalgia and luxury with surprising special touches for your comfort and enjoyment. From your cabin facing Kachemak Bay and Cook Inlet, view breathtaking scenery including the majestic mountains of the Alaska Range and watch abundant wildlife. Lounge in your private beach area by the campfire and watch the spectacular sunsets! The space From your wildly unique cabin, you are steps away from sandy beaches where whales breach, otters play and eagles soar. Fisherman's cabin is nestled between spruce and alder trees and offers spectacular views of both the ocean and mountains. Spend your days relaxing in a hammock or adventuring in this magical natural playland. At the day's end, relax in our sauna or hot tub then settle near a campfire while enjoying a splendid sunset. Fall asleep to the sound of ocean surf and wake to a sunrise over the water. Our location is what sets us apart from other cabin rentals. We are like a lodge without lodge prices or schedules. Our uniquely wild 12 x 16 cabins are filled with rustic charm. The cabins sleep 3 with 1 full and 1 single bed. Minimum 2 nights. They are self-catering and well equipped including bed linens, towels, paper towels, toilet paper, shampoo, conditioner, soap. The kitchenettes include a sink with hot water, fridge, toaster, 2 burner propane cook stove, pots, pans, dishes and utensils, coffee maker, basic spices, and more. We provide potable water in the blue jug at your door step. There is an indoor flush toilet with a private hot shower outside of the cabin with an amazing view of Kachemak Bay through the porthole. Each cabin has electric heating, a propane BBQ & utensils, plus 2 private seating areas--one on each beach, as one beach just isn't enough! Enjoy unlimited use of our kayaks, stand up paddle boards, row boats, wood fired sauna, hot tub, fishing float & rods, fire wood, life jackets & spray skirts throughout your stay. Guests must bring their own food and beverage provisions. These must be purchased in advance of the water taxi or air transportation ride to MacDonald Spit and transported with you. There is no food service available at Between Beaches *Winter (October 1-May 1) rates are due to our cabins being "dry". In Alaska, this means no running water. We provide water and an outhouse, but no shower or flushing toilet. Sauna also available. Guest access Enjoy your morning coffee at your exclusive seating area on the sunrise beach facing Kasitsna Bay where Bald eagles soar across the bay - for the evening switch sides to the sunset beach which faces Kachemak Bay and enjoy the majestic views of the Alaska Range from your beach fire! In addition to your two private seating areas we have communal spots for you to enjoy including a large deck with a seating area, an on site gallery with wifi, a wood fired sauna, hot tub (you can reserve private time slots on our sign up sheet) and at low tide enjoy exploring the spit by walking up to Nubble Point. Let the Adventure Begin!! Between Beaches Alaska Lodging is located just a short thirteen miles Southwest of Homer (by water, across Kachemak Bay from Homer) and eight miles Northeast of historic Seldovia, Alaska (by road). We can be reached by a scenic water taxi ride from the Homer Boat Harbor, or by air taxi. If air taxi is your choice, your destination will be Seldovia - departing either from Anchorage or Homer. Guests arriving in Seldovia by Air Charter will be transported by our friendly staff from the Seldovia Airport and delivered to the cabin. We recommend arriving by water taxi where you will be delivered to MacDonald Spit Beach outside your cabin door or near Between Beaches Alaska (depending on the tide) where we can pick you up. Please be sure and advise us of your travel choice in advance so we know when to expect you and can make plans if necessary to pick you up. Other things to note Our cabins and house are smoke-free, guests who smoke in them will be charged a $1,500 cleaning fee. We are pet friendly and have a pet fee of $100 per dog, we ask that your dog is on a leash, you clean up after them and that they do not get on the beds. Don't forget your swimsuits for the sauna & hot tub! Knee-high rubber boots are recommended for getting on and off the boats, & tidepooling!
