Woodland Retreat

Cozy bungalow in the woods. The Woodland Retreat sits on a large, private lot surrounded by trees, just a short drive from town. Because the home borders state land, it feels as though you are on the edge of the wilderness, yet, Woodland Retreat is in friendly neighborhood. We provide a very modern and well appointed home. Fully remodeled with guests in mind, the house is thoughtfully decorated and equipped. After a long day of play in the Seward area, the Retreat offers a comfortable place to relax. Games, books, WiFi and TV with roku box are available for when it’s time to wind down or rest after a busy day. A spacious deck lies off the back of the house, providing a great spot for barbecues and relaxation during the long Alaskan summer evenings. The home and yard are yours to enjoy. There is one closet in the master suite that is locked to guests (we use it for storage of linens etc) as well as a tool shed in the backyard that is off limits, otherwise you are free to use the entire space. We do not live onsite, so you will generally not have interaction with us. However, we are available by text, phone and through the booking site. There may be times when we stop by to do some yard work, plow snow (winter/spring), or other outdoor maintenance. We try to avoid this, but it is not always possible (especially plowing 😊). Woodland Retreat is in a neighborhood of primarily single family homes on large lots (one acre or more). I love the area for the privacy, beauty and late afternoon sun. You will need to have a car if you are staying at Woodland Retreat. There is also a bike path that runs along the highway from town to just before the turnoff to Woodland Retreat and makes for a nice ride. Taxis are also available, but no other public transportation runs outside of town at this time.
