Coastal Maine Cottage and farm - 5-10 minute walk to scenic Morgan Bay with easy access to biking, hiking, birding, swimming, kayaking. About 50 minutes drive from Acadia National Park. If you’d like a more personal touch, we are often available to assist you in any way possible, answer questions, give recommendations, etc. The space The farm offers a seasonal performing arts center in the nearby barn on the property that is available to guests for reunions, celebrations and artistic functions. Contact host to make arrangements. Beautiful coastal area - enjoy biking, birding, hiking, kayaking, canoeing and swimming. Sailing cruises on the bay are also available. Interesting and stimulating cultural events and some great places to eat and shop. The cottage is private and includes a sleeping loft, futon couch on the ground floor, small kitchenette, bathroom with a very good hot shower, and a baby grand piano. This is a musician's perfect getaway to practice, compose, record, and delve into their music. The Coastal Maine Cottage shares the property with a few other cottages, and our performance Barn. It is a quiet and secluded property, surrounded by nature, with gorgeous views, only a 5-minute walk to the Bay, and the stars glitter like fireworks on the clear nights. We often have concerts every week throughout Spring, Summer and Fall, and you will have free admission to every concert showing while you are staying at Surry Arts and Events. Feel free to ask about our schedule while choosing your booking dates if you’d like to catch a performance in the Barn. The cottages are located on an old Maine farm consisting of seven buildings. Perhaps the centerpiece of the complex is a performance arts program in an old Maine Barn. It features a Steinway Grand Piano, excellent acoustics, and an intimate rustic setting. Our season usually runs from some point in late May to some point in early October. In recent years we’ve had thirty plus concerts in a season. We invite you to join us at any available concerts during your stay, admission free to guests. Please let us know at the door you are a guest to receive your free admission. We are surrounded by the beauty of Acadia National Park with striking vistas of Cadillac Mountain. We are also about five minutes walking distance to Morgan Bay and the Carter Nature Preserve trail along the ocean. Farther along Cross Road on the left are the Furth and Talalay Trails to our local wetlands. All of these trails provide an abundance of wildlife for the avid birder and wildlife lover. Please note that, after two guests, there is an additional fee of $25 per person, per night. Washer/dryer available upon request for a fee of $5. Guest access Guests have access to a kitchenette in the cottage and a full kitchen in my nearby home available upon request. High speed internet, parking next to the cottage. Other things to note There is a beautiful vista of approximately 18 miles out to the peaks of the mountains of Acadia National Park from the property near the cottage. The unique and internationally known Surry Concert barn is about a two minute walk from the cottage.
