What you see now is basically two small storage spaces combined into one. Where the sofa now sits was a workbench with various tools hanging on a pegboard behind it. At the end of the bench, where the kitchen sink is now, there was a small wood-burning stove, the only source of heat. Originally the bench spanned the width of the building, separating it into two halves of what would become the Honey B. The back half, where the bedroom and bathroom are now, had a dirt floor and was open to the yard on one side. Exposed to the elements, after many years of disuse (or just plain neglect) the joists started to rot causing the roof to sag. During the renovation we raised the ceiling height by spanning the roof from the back wall to the top of the old shed. We feel like we arrived just in time to save it. We knocked down part of the cinderblock wall, connecting the two sides and closed up the open side of the building. Part of the wall remains behind the sofa
