Relax and recharge at this comfortable luxury retreat in the middle of nature. It is the perfect home away from home, to relax after skiing or hiking, to make special memories with family or good friends, or to work remotely from a scenic spot. Sitting on 10+ rolling acres, this spacious (3500 sq ft) chalet has floor-to-ceiling windows that offer magnificent views of the Hunter Mountain ski slopes. LIVING ROOM A large sofa area is a perfect place to enjoy the views and the wood-burning fireplace (firewood provided). A retro turntable, plenty of books, and green plants throughout make this feel like home. The house is comfortable and exudes luxury throughout. Designer furniture (B&B Italia and DWR sofas, Poltrona frau armchairs, DWR cabinets... ) complement high-end finishes such as limestone radiant heated floors, marble countertops, and handmade Italian ceramic tiles. KITCHEN A fully equipped open kitchen with a professional Wolf range (6 burners), All-Clad cookware, Japanese Global knives, a Blendtec blender, and plenty of kitchen utensils make this a real Chef's kitchen. Well-stocked coffee bar with a top-of-the-line Mochamaster coffee pot, a burr grinder, a Nespresso machine (we provide a starter set of Nespresso pods and coffee beans), and a few other alternative coffee makers. There is also an electric water kettle, several kinds of tea, and a toaster. The grand island and open dining area which seats 12 people comfortably provide plenty of room for entertaining. MASTER SUITE (Top floor) The master suite sits on its own floor and has a King-size bed and a master bath with a steam shower as well as a soaking tub. MAIN FLOOR BEDROOMS There are two bedrooms on the main floor, one with a Queen and one with 2 Queens. There is also a full bathroom with a tub and shower and a half bath with a toilet. LOWER FLOOR The lower floor is a walk-out basement with full ceiling height (9ft) and plenty of light. Here you will find the fourth bedroom with a Queen bed and a full bathroom. There is a lounging area with a large 65" Roku TV and Sonos soundbar as well as the kids' corner with a tipi tent, play kitchen, and plenty of toys and games (including many grown-up board games). Next to this is the Entertainment room with a new Kick Legend 55" Foosball table and a 75" TV with a Sonos soundbar. You can use our YouTube TV, CBS All Access, and Netflix subscriptions and access many more streaming channels with your subscription as needed. There is also a washer-dryer (detergent provided) and a mudroom with racks to store skis and snowboards. OUTDOOR SPACES From the lower floor, you have direct access to an outdoor patio with a large high-end Bullfrog (R8) hot tub. The hot tub accommodates up to 8 people (bath sheets are provided, please bring your slippers if you desire) and is positioned to give you those perfect mountain views. Just off the patio, there is a brand-new cedar barrel sauna with a panoramic window positioned to perfectly frame the view of Hunter Mountain. An outdoor shower lets you cool off after a sauna session. The house has 2 decks and a large lawn with a forested area in the back (10 acres). There is a professional 5-burner gas grill (Blaze) and a fire pit in the backyard (and yes, we provide supplies to make smores!). There are several outdoor seating areas to spread out (2 tables of 10 to 12, a lounge area, and Adirondack chairs around the fire pit). Firewood provided. *We usually open the calendar 6 months out but if you are interested in a future period that is still blocked, feel free to send us an inquiry* Guest access You will have the whole house and 10 acres of land to yourself to enjoy. Just the external garage (separate building) and 1 closet in the master bedroom are not accessible to guests. Other things to note Special accommodations for children: In addition to a play area with a tipi-tent, plenty of toys, and books, we have a thick playmat for small kids. We can provide a Stokke Tripp Trapp high chair with a baby security seat and a pack-and-play for babies. We also have children’s cutlery. Please ask us if you have other special requests and we will do our best to find a solution. Activities nearby: The house is so comfortable that you may not want to leave, but should you still want to explore (and we recommend you do!), there are plenty of activities nearby. Windham is just 12 minutes away by car and Hunter 15 minutes, both are great for skiing and mountain activities ( hiking, ziplining, snow tubing,...). There are great hiking paths of all levels in the area (Pratt Rock, West Kill mountain…), watering holes and lakes (Colgate, North, and South, …) to cool off in the summer, and interesting towns to explore such as Phoenecia, Woodstock, Saugerties… Last but not least, there are many excellent restaurants (Phoenicia Diner, the Pines, Peekamoose...)and breweries (West Kill, Woodstock…) nearby and we will provide you a list of our favorites in our house book.
