High Meadows Estate Mannor House

Visit Bluemont wine country. Stay in a beautifully appointed historic stone Manor House on 15 acres. Built circa 1896, Highmeadows Estate sits atop the Blueridge Mountains, just one hour west of Washington DC. This stunning retreat is only a few minutes from many vineyards and craft breweries the Shenandoah River, the Appalachian Trail, hiking, canoeing, kayaking, farm markets, and a beautiful drive from the the cute villages of Berryville, Harpers Ferry, Middleburg, & Upperville. The space Guests may walk the grounds, use the large stone fire pit, and visitor beautiful gardens and meadow. Other structures are strictly off limits, including all barns, to ensure your safety and enjoyment. Outside, the historic stone home has many decks and covered porches, covered seating and eating areas, daybeds and chairs overlooking the Meadows. Inside, the home has: a fire place, a large television for movie watching, an old record player and vintage vinyl record collection, an outside sunroom with comfortable daybed, a desk and small art studio, a quiet library/office space leading out to a stone porch and two chairs overlooking the back meadows. Special touches include a lovely art and book collection, claw foot soaking tubs, extremely comfortable linens and towels, specialty toiletries and incense, and very well appointed kitchen and glassware to enjoy cooking and wine tasting - cocktail recipe and cook books abound, and much much more. Guest access Guests access the home via a lockbox on the front door. The lockbox code will be sent to you via Airbnb app text messaging three days before check-in. Other things to note High Meadows is an historic estate located on the Blueridge Mountains between the Loudoun and Shenandoah Valleys. The weather can be cooler on the mountain, so check your weather app and dress accordingly. We can get snow accumulation in winter (usually after the holidays but sometimes we get lucky), more than in DC, and we have a fire place to create a warm romantic environment. Highmeadows is very close to several vineyards, craft breweries, farm markets, and other local attractions. Bear Chase brewery and the Appalachian Trail trailhead called Bears Den are both about a quarter mile away. The property has a large fire pit that guests may use. Please be aware that you will be staying in an historic home, on a mountain with vast parkland. Make sure to supervise children, minors and the elderly accordingly.
