Charming restored turn-of-the-century home in historic City of Poughkeepsie offers ideal access to waterfront, green spaces, and biking trails. The famed Walkway Over the Hudson is a short 1/2-block walk, and the area is dotted with restaurants and local shops. The train station is ten minutes on foot, and Marist College, Vassar College, the Culinary Institute and the Medical Center are a quick drive. Explore all the Hudson Valley has to offer (arts, dining, music, outdoor adventure). The space is located within walking distance (ten minutes) of the train station, the Walkway Over the Hudson, and a short drive to Marist College, waterfront parks and restaurants. It's also close to Vassar College, the Culinary Institute, the Medical Center, and a number of biking trails. Hiking, kayaking, and mountain biking are all nearby activities, and winter skiing is just shy of an hour's drive away. We are in a beautiful location to enjoy the changing seasons, and are within reasonable proximity to DIA in Beacon, art galleries in New Paltz and Saugerties, and Bethel Woods for music events. You will be on the first floor of a two-family residence. You have a private entry and use of the entire first floor. You have access to an enclosed back porch and the backyard, which backs up to the Walkway Over the Hudson. There is only on-street parking, but it is ample. The City of Poughkeepsie is an historic district near the waterfront. The neighborhood is experiencing a resurgence, with restaurants and shops interspersed between residential homes and green spaces (parks). It is both charming and evolving. We love it. We like to take walks down towards the train station and then along the river, often grabbing take-out at one of the waterfront restaurants. The Walkway is another good option for walking and biking. There are microbreweries (Blue Collar, Mill House, King's Court) nearby, as well as our own "Little Italy" featuring such gems as La Deliziosa and Rossi's Rosticceria. The Mid-Hudson Children's Museum is within a short walk, and you can spend time at the nearby waterfront park afterwards. It is an evolving, up-and-coming area with a lot of appeal and much to offer! We hope you will enjoy it as much as we do. The train station is about a ten minute walk from our place. Parking is on the street, and there are typically ample spaces. Uber is available in the area, should you choose to train up without a vehicle. Also, this is a great area for biking, so consider bringing your bikes up! We are happy to have you. This may be paid charged against the deposit or charged via the AirBnb payment request. Long-term guests should also agree to provide their own paper products (toilet paper, paper towels, tissues, etc.) and toiletries (shampoo, soap) once our generous supplies have been consumed. :-)
