This quintessential lake house sits just a half mile from Snow Pond Center for the Arts and New England Music Camp, which has free concerts during the summer season. It is a 15 minute drive from Colby College and Thomas College in Waterville. Visit Hallowell, known for antiques, good food and nightlife, which is only 20 minutes away. Head to nearby Augusta, the state capitol, to explore historic Fort Wilderness and the Maine State Museum, or go to the movies on a rainy day. Freeport, home of LL Bean, brand-name shopping and the delicious Haraseeket Lobster Pound, is a 45 minute drive. Camden and Boothbay Harbor are each a little over an hour by car for scenic ocean activities and dining. The area is known for boating, fishing, birding, hiking, and golf. Our canoe and kayak are available for your enjoyment. One of our favorite places to hike is the Mount Phillip Trail in Rome overlooking the Belgrade Lakes. Belgrade Lakes Golf Course is a pro 18 hole course, voted as one of America's top public courses. The semi-private Waterville Country Club is a hidden gem and also close by. There is mini-golf and batting cages too at Gifford's, home of the famous ice-cream and a fun destination after a day on the lake. Boat rentals and delivery are available at Maineboatrentals.com. There is a town launch just a few miles down the lake. Have breakfast at the Early Bird in Oakland, or head over to Day's Store in charming Belgrade Lakes Village for donuts, Cabot cheese, sandwiches and local merchandise. In the Village you will find Hello Pie, which has great pies, bread and pastries! The Village Inn across from Day's Store and River Cafe in Waterville are great options for fresh, regional dining. You will find yummy ice cream at Gifford's and Fielder's Choice too. Our family has made wonderful memories here and we trust you will too. There's much to do, see, eat and enjoy with your family and friends in this relaxing, waterfront setting. There are nice walking routes around the neighborhood. Drive a short ways to Blueberry Hill, hike at Mount Philip or Vaughn Woods, or take a day trip to the shore. Scenic Boothbay Harbor and Camden are an hour drive for lobster dinner and ocean activities.
