The space Originally built in 1760 on North Main Street and moved in 1805 to its present location on Benefit Street, this is a treasured home along Benefit Street’s “Mile of History.” The exterior of the home has Greek Revival details while the interior boasts wide plank pine wood floors from 1760, five original fireplaces, and distinctive curved walls in the living room facing Benefit Street. The custom kitchen leads to a western-facing deck with breathtaking views of the Rhode Island State House and downtown Providence. The deck has two heaters and a grill for year-round use. The second floor is dedicated to the primary suite with a spacious primary bedroom, a stunning bath and shower, convenient laundry, and an office space that overlooks the State House. The third floor has two bedrooms with two queen beds and another full bathroom. The finished basement contains a Peloton and weights, a queen sleeper sofa, a full bathroom in the unfinished area, and a door that leads to the patio and perennial garden designed by a famous RISD landscape architect. Slanted floors and narrow stairs are a part of this museum-piece from 1760. If guests have mobility issues they might find the second to third floor stairwell particularly challenging.
