Elegant, fully equipped kitchen; ballroom sized living area, spacious, private balcony. 15 foot coved ceilings, beautiful French moulding, FP, baby grand piano, 15' table , 18 chairs. loft is on the upper floor of the grand building and is accessed via an elegant (private) balustraded staircase. Off-street parking for 2-3 vehicles is provided. Beds include 4 king sized beds and 2 queen sofa beds. Air conditioned (in main space, ceiling fans in bedrooms), washer and dryer, ample linens and amenities provided. The space is fully independent with a locked door from the common vestibule. A private balcony is provided with a dining table and seating. A second space, Emerson House, on the first floor, is not accessible to guests of the Mason House, but the two could be rented together. We own the home across the street (our primary residence, which is also rented on the summer), as well as an office and another smaller vacation rental cottage a block away. In the summer we live 20 minutes from Bar Harbor, but we are at your disposition should you need anything. We do love meeting people and knowing that our guests are enjoying their stay, but we also allow for self check-in if you prefer to not interact with your hosts or would like to have flexibility of arrival. This is the ideal location for a stay in Bar Harbor. Park your car and walk to all the shops, restaurants, grocery store, churches, beaches and parks - all within 2 blocks of this home located on a surprisingly tranquil residential street in the heart of Bar Harbor Village. Around the corner, the Village Green is a great place to sit and enjoy the free public wifi, or catch a performance of the Town Band. The neighbors are friendly and you will want to follow their example and sit on the porch with a glass of wine and people watch! Of course, one can drive, but parking in Bar Harbor is hard to come by - this location allows you walk almost anywhere in Bar Harbor, even into Acadia National Park. A half block from the Island Explorer bus stop, providing free and convenient transportation to the park and around MDI. This building is truly unique and magnificent in its size, historic details and modern overlay of comfort. Built in 1887 as the high school during Bar Harbor's Gilded Age, it now provides all the comforts of home, in a space that will truly wow you!
