Blueberry Fields/ House and Retreat

Beautiful land, rustic, comfortable home. Take a hot tub at sunset looking out over the property and listen to how quiet it is here. That's the special treasure about this place. You can hear the birds and the wind through the pines. We like it that way. That's why we call it a Retreat! The space Our four-season dwelling is on 4 acres of gardens, pines, and a small Japanese pond. It feels like more than 4 acres because there are blueberry fields all around and you can't see or hear any of the neighbors. We have 40 mature organic blueberry bushes ourselves which are free for the picking from July-Sept. The home has 2 bedrooms. The Master bedroom has a Queen size bed and a small sofa bed. The other bedroom has a trundle bed with 2 twin beds that can connect or not. In the living room is a long sofa bed that folds down to become a full bed. Really comfortable. We also have two or three Queen size raised air beds which can be set up in the living room, outside in the summer, or on the porch. 2 bathrooms, one with a marble walk-in shower and the other with an old fashioned laid-back bathtub. And- a fantastic record collection of Classic Jazz and Modern Classical albums! Home has a beautiful kitchen with a big stainless steel refrigerator, great stove, lots of cooking tools and lots of space for creating great meals. Plus a few Weber BBQ's outside for grilling. All rooms have sliding glass doors looking out to the whole property. The big screen porch (14'x26') is great. Or play the piano? The house is all wireless, ceiling fans in all the rooms and on porch, and air conditioning/central heat. We love dogs, and have had guests brings their dogs for the last 10 years. If your dog is well trained, mellow and isn't a loud barker, bring your dog along, but ask me before you book. Blueberry Fields is great for a romantic and peaceful getaway, honeymoon, family reunions or small retreat groups. Three Oaks is only 90 minutes from Chicago in beautiful Harbor Country, with sparkling beaches, art galleries, great restaurants, dunes and hiking trails. Guest access Access to front yard, house, backyard up to where the land dips. Back part is for owner. Other things to note *This venue is not a place for crazy parties. *It's more of a quiet retreat enclave and that's the kind of bookings that work best here. *If you want to bring your dog, please let me know about your pet before you request a booking. Dogs must not be loud barkers and have to be crated or secure before guests leave home. $25/ night…dog fee. *We love children, but only if they can respect the house and the land. *Not really into a bunch of kids running around. *If you'd like to invite people here while you're staying here, please run it past me. *Thanks for being lovely guests!!
