Craftsman style guest house just a short walk to the beach, steps to restaurants & shops on trendy Montana Ave, in the North of Montana residential area of Santa Monica. The space We welcome you to enjoy our beautiful craftsman style studio in the exclusive North of Montana area of beachy Santa Monica. A great hotel alternative, the studio has an extremely comfortable queen memory foam mattress, a desk/workspace, skylight, hairdryer, TV with Cable including 400+ channels, including HBO Max, Bluetooth music player, Wireless Internet, microwave, coffeemaker with complimentary coffee pods, mini-fridge, iron & ironing board, & luggage rack. Towels, linens, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and individually wrapped bar soap are provided. Lovely outdoor deck with table and 2 chairs to enjoy morning coffee or evening beverages, overlooking our grassy yard. Studio is behind our main house, upstairs, above the garage. We are steps away from trendy Montana Ave with a multitude of fantastic restaurants, independent coffee roasters, healthy cafes and salad bars, shopping and even a grocery store a block away! Like a hotel room, there is no kitchen in the guesthouse, but with so many wonderful food and drink establishments within a few minutes walk, you won't miss it! If you would like to rent a bicycle, let us know and we can give you the name of two local bike rental companies. LAX is a 20 - 30 minute drive away, depending on the time of day, and we are centrally located to the 10 & 405 freeways and Highway 1 (Pacific Coast Highway). There is a frosted glass skylight in the guesthouse that allows in some additional natural light. With the added benefit of being so close to shops and restaurants, please be aware that due to its proximity to the commercial area, you may hear some noise from the neighboring parking lot during their business hours. Guest access Guests have access to second floor guest studio & outdoor deck. Studio is accessed via the gate off the parking area in the rear alley. You will enter through the back gate, into the yard and upstairs to your studio. One parking space on site. Other things to note Fantastic location is 1 mile to Third Street Promenade, 0.7 miles to Palisades Park & the beach, & 1.6 miles to the Expo Metro Station. All are easily reachable via walking, biking, bus or Lyft/Uber. If you would like to rent a bicycle, let us know and we can give you the name of two local bike rental companies. Please note that there is no cover available for the skylight so if the light bothers you in the morning, we suggest bringing a sleep mask. Please note there is no kitchen, but with so many wonderful food and drink establishments within a few minutes walk, you won't miss it! With the added benefit of being so close to shops and restaurants, please be aware that due to its proximity to the commercial area, you may hear some noise from the neighboring parking lot. Please be sure to throw any food into the trash cans, and not down the sink as there is no garbage disposal. Please note the shower and toilet are in a separate restroom area that has a pocket sliding door. The sink is in the main studio area and not in the restroom area. There is no air conditioning in the guesthouse, although there is a small fan provided. We have lived in our home for 36 years without A/C and are fine with no A/C but if you are one that needs the A/C on very warm days (which are rare since we are 10 blocks from the beach, but they do happen during heat waves) please be aware of this. Important note: Due to host allergies, this listing cannot accommodate service animals or emotional support animals. An Airbnb exemption has been granted for this listing.
