Unlike many cabins in Twain Harte, here you get the best of both worlds. Proximity to all the goings-on in down town and still a cabin feel. This cabin feels like a "cabin" but with amenities and modern touches like central heat and air and tankless water heater that you wont find in many other cabins in the area. There is a neighboring street you can access to make for an easier walk to town than the main road. It is only 0.3 miles but with a little bit of rolling hills that is still easy for most fitness levels. We are Twain Harte Lake members which means our guests will have access to Twain Harte lake with their stay. The lake is open Memorial Day weekend through Labor Day Weekend. No off-season lake access is available for guests. If you have never been there, you're missing out. This lake is private, clean, safe, well maintained with slides and diving boards and sand to play in as well as a snack bar with a full meal and dessert menu. Down town Twain Harte is adorable and you'll be pleased with how many restaurant options are there in this quaint tiny mountain town. You’ll find restaurants, shopping, wine tasting, community pool, ice cream and coffee shops, mini golf and the beautiful Eproson park in the down town area. Here you’ll find playground equipment, a skate park, golf and disc golf, community garden and Bocce ball. A home manual with restaurant, shopping and local attractions, as well as how to navigate and operate the house and check-out process is available for guests. Also, because we're happy you're here, expect a little welcome gift upon your arrival. To make your stay more comfortable will find basic toiletries in bulk in the restrooms for your use if desired and some coffee and tea to get you going while you settle in. Basement key will be left for the renters so they can access laundry services and extra home items. Host lives off-site and is available by phone only. Texting is okay and is recommended. There is always something to do in and around Twain Harte. Not far from the house is Eproson Park where you'll find new, fun playground equipment, skate park, Bocce ball courts and community garden. Next to this is the Golf Club where you can play an affordable round of golf or disc golf and then stop in the clubhouse for a nice meal. There is also fantastic mini golfing just down the road if thats more your style. There are festivals, craft fairs and parades all year long in down town Twain Harte. While I recommend use of the lake during your stay, during the summer you can also use Twain Harte's community pool to swim and have fun. There are also outdoor movies playing during the summer as well. Close by you'll find: Columbia state park, Railtown, Pinecrest, Dodge Ridge Ski Resort, Sonora, Murphy's, Moaning Caverns and much more. Ask the host for any specific recommendations. From the house, head past a few more houses on Fuller Rd until you reach Tatu Dr. There you will cut through to Black Oak and turn left. This will take you to downtown on a safe walking route with little traffic (and less of a hill). There are Taxi services available and an occasional Uber/Lyft but they are not always a reliable mode of transportation (that's why its nice to be able to walk downtown ;)
