Barn Apartment at Wolftrap Farm - 2017 Conversion of horse barn wing to gorgeous apartment. Huge horse & cattle farm, with easy access to Monticello, Montpelier, 6 wineries. 5 miles to Gordonsville or Orange; 25 miles to Charlottesville. Gorgeous countryside. Bring the kids and/or dogs. They will be thrilled, as will the adults. Book our hot tub patio, swim in our creek, fish in one of the ponds, hike our farm roads and woodland trails, play in our Game Barn. The space Wolftrap Farm is a 600 acre horse and cattle farm that is also the site of 7 vacation rental homes. We also host over 70 weddings each year. The Barn Apartment is one of the latest "vacation rentals". It is the wing of the red bell-roofed barn that originally served as the milking parlor when this was a dairy barn. Currently, the barn is a horse stables, and this wing served as a tack room, lounge and office for the barn staff until early 2017. We converted it to a modern, one-bedroom apartment, totally sealed off from the horses. But you have a great view of the horses out your windows, and can enjoy petting and feeding them at your leisure. Just a few steps from your door you will find our new Hot Tub Patio, which you can book to enjoy not just the hot tub, but games of corn hole, connect four, etc. The farm offers stunning views, great hiking, and easy access to Monticello, Montpelier, and a half dozen great wineries, most notably Barboursville and Early Mountain. We are 5 miles from Gordonsville, and the same distance from Orange, where you will find great restaurants, grocery stores and all needed conveniences. The Barn Apartment is fully furnished, and is wheel-chair accessible as well. Do not worry that you are connected to a barn. With all the insulation we installed, you will not hear or smell anything from the stables. Guest access You can walk your legs off on the farm, or rent our golf cart. You can fish in our ponds, which are loaded with bass and bream. There is plenty of wildlife also, including deer, turkeys, groundhogs, geese and ducks, all kinds of birds (including eagles), and the occasional badger, skunk, fox and coyote. There is a firepit outside your door and we supply the firewood. Other things to note You must schedule your time using the Hot Tub Patio by contacting the owner. 90 minutes per day you have booked. Ping pong, pool table, bikes and other games are in the shared Game Barn that is near the Pond House. Swing set and rope swings are near the entrance to the woodland trails that are to the left of the Pond House. Visible from the Game Barn.
