Lighthouse Keepers' Quarters B

Vashon Island's own lighthouse station offers weekend and week-long stays in the two renovated keepers' quarters. The two residences share the beach with the lighthouse and other features of the historic light station. The space Vashon Park District's Point Robinson Park is a 10.0-acre shoreline park and historical and marine conservancy located on the east shore of Maury Island off Point Robinson Road overlooking East Passage. The site has provided fog and lighthouse service for vessels since 1885. The lighthouse has been fully automated since 1978. *Vashon Park District owns the upland part of the park; the remainder is on long-term lease from the Coast Guard. The property conserves an extensive sandy beach shoreline that wraps around the point, a saltwater marsh, and upland woodlands. Walking trails and a few picnic tables have been developed along the scenic shoreline, providing dramatic views of East Passage, Tacoma, and Mount Rainier, and through the upper wooded slopes. Pt. Robinson Stewards have fully restored the two Keepers' Quarters on the property for use as rentals. All proceeds from these rentals go back into the park's restoration and maintenance. Guest access Quarters B is part of a duplex. The Caretaker lives next door in a small apartment. Both residences have separate entrances with a shared front porch facing Puget Sound and Mount Rainer. Other things to note Important Information: This historic property is managed by the Vashon Park District, a government agency. By renting this property, you agree to the following Hold Harmless Agreement: As the renter, you assume all risks normally associated with the use of this property. You agree to hold the Vashon Park District, its employees, agents, representatives, and volunteers harmless from any liability, claims, or demands of any kind that may result from your stay or activities on the property. This release applies to all guests and participants during your rental period. It is your responsibility to ensure that everyone in your group is aware of and abides by this agreement. Pricing includes cleaning fees and 11.7% sales and lodging tax. During our high season (Memorial Day weekend - Labor Day weekend), we have a 7-night minimum stay. During the low season, a 2-night minimum stay is required. House Rules Special Events: ALL events (weddings, reunions, conferences, parties, etc.) with more than 10 people must be coordinated with and pre-approved by the Recreation Manager. Extra event insurance may be required for certain events. Please start the dishwasher before you check out. When departing, turn the thermostat down to 58°, lock the house and entry gate, and return the keys to the lockbox. Rules: No smoking, no pets, no open flames or candles. Only charcoal is allowed in grills. All guests over the age of 18 must be registered with the Vashon Park District office via the Release Form. NOTE: The single upstairs bath has an original clawfoot cast iron tub with a handheld spray nozzle. There is no attachment for hands-free standing showers. There is a triple shower curtain that surrounds the tub to prevent water spray from escaping the enclosure, but care must be taken by guests to ensure water does not leak out onto the floor.
