Description
Beautiful classic Victorian home located in historic downtown Downieville. Mountain biking, hiking, swimming, fishing, relaxing, are some of the reasons why you will love your visit to our home in the paradise known as Downieville, California. Brand new 3 car paved driveway installed in 2024. The space Newly renovated (new hot water heater installed in 2019, new HVAC w/ AC installed in 2021, new deck in 2022, painted in 2023, new driveway in 2024) Victorian cottage, set in the heart of Downieville. Nestled between 2 rivers, the cottage offers a relaxing retreat. Swim, bike, fish, walk or simply watch the world go by in this Sierra goldmine town, surrounded by nature. In the evening relax with high speed WiFi (150 mbps) and a 50” 4K smart TV. Our family loves our cottage. In the winter there's nothing like snuggling up and sitting around the fire playing board games. In the summer it's all about the outdoors. Sit on the porch and watch the world go by, explore the Sierra's all around you, or be adventurous like us and try out the famous downhill mountain bike rides. We have ridden mountain bikes in places like Whistler, Jackson Hole, Moab, and Santa Cruz and there is nothing quite like Downieville. The trails here are truly world class and a bucket list experience for any mountain biker. 100 steps from the front porch is the best swimming hole in town - never crowded, ideal for kids and adults! And finally, this is our personal vacation home. Every dollar that we have ever made from having renters has been re-invested into the house to both improve the quality of the home for us when we make our annual trips but also for our guests. Other things to note The cottage backs onto the hill and has a large garden extending up the mountain. There's a very small pond on the hill so watch out if you have very young kids. The garden is terraced with dry stone walls all the way back and offers great views and walks straight up the hill. Tread with caution as the hill is steep.
