You'll feel as if you've "gotten away from it all" in our peaceful setting, but you're just steps away from everything fun. This beautiful custom home is the PLACE. We have been renting for 12 years, and are consistently rated 5 stars. Our location is IDEAL. We are in the part of Sonoma Valley with the greatest concentration of vineyards and wineries -- you can walk to 9 wineries within 6 blocks, a couple of restaurants and gift shops, as well as our neighborhood grocery market. Yet, it's peaceful and serene, and surrounding by rolling hills covered in vineyards. We built this house in 2008 and designed it for just this purpose -- getting together with friends and family, in a spacious, welcoming environment. No detail has been overlooked -- from the luxurious beds and spacious bathrooms (not having enough outlets or mirrors has always been my pet peeve when traveling, so there are tons!), huge gourmet kitchen with 2 dishwashers, to all the fun amenities like a bocce court, wood-fired pizza oven, board games, pool table, bar, whole-house sound system... we have everything to make a vacation fun! We also have everything to make your stay sanitary and HEALTHY. Our sanitation protocol exceeds the guidelines by Airbnb, to include a commercial UV-C sanitation wand which is so powerful it requires protective eyewear. This is used to disinfect soft surfaces like upholstery. We have removed decorative bedding and throw pillows so that every piece of bedding (including quilts and pillow protectors) can be washed in the hottest water every single cleaning. The last step of our cleaning protocol is the sanitizing every high-touch surface such as light switches, door handles, faucets, cabinet knobs and drawer pulls, electronics, and appliances. Sanitation is very personal to us, since our own family stays in our vacation home at least once a month. Your safety is our safety! The whole house. Our yard is incredibly beautiful. Not only is there a small Zinfandel Vineyard (we make wine, too) and a French Lavender field with over 500 lavender plants, we have an herb garden, heirloom tomato plants, two peach trees, a fig tree, and a mandarin orange tree. Feel free to pick some produce or arrange some flowers from our yard. Just be inside by 10pm! The County of Sonoma has strict rules about "quiet time." I am more than happy to help you plan your stay at any time. We have lots of reviews elsewhere, and I'm known for my hospitality! You will have my cell phone, are welcome to call or text at any time. Lots of friendly wineries, some great places to eat, a couple of places for coffee, and a neighborhood grocery market. In the warmer months, go to VJB winery between 1:00-2:00 pm for a lovely lunch on their beautiful patio, and hear their fun tuxedoed tenors stroll and entertain the crowd with a mix of comedy and opera. It's a fan favorite. Muscardini winery is just a block away, and often has live music on Friday nights or Saturday afternoons. They also have a beautiful patio. Or, do the 7-course wine and food pairing at Mayo Reserve Winery -- it's an amazing experience for just $30! We are also blessed with several state parks all around us, and some amazing hiking and biking trails. Just a bit further out, you can be at Bodega Bay beach in about 45 minutes (sailing, whale watching, etc), or the Russian River (kayaking, tubing) in about 30 minutes There are so many great places to visit nearby -- just ask! A car is recommended to get you from one of our area airports, but once you're at the property, you're going to find it's very tempting to stay put! There are many weekends we visit when the car stays in the driveway the whole weekend. Speaking of which, we have parking in our driveway for 3 cars. We like to stay often at our vacation home, so have stocked it with the things that make a visit as easy as possible -- coffee, creamer, sugar, salt, flour, olive oil, many spices, hairdryers, etc. We don't like to pack any more than we have to, either!
