This adobe house was lovingly redone by us to be the office of our puppet and object theatre. (Our workshop is east of the house.) We've moved our office and are happy to offer the house to travelers. There's easy access to downtown, freeways, public transportation, the Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, Old Town, museums, restaurants. Note: The house has typical NM style evaporative cooling, not central air! Your two hosts, who live three miles away, speak French, German, Spanish and English. The outside is modest and the inside is interestingly contemporary. For those unfamiliar with New Mexico, the house has the widely-used type of cooling system called evaporative cooling or "swamp cooler," which blows air through watered pads, to cool. This is an efficient cooling system for dry climates. There is a large kitchen area with an extra work table; two bedrooms; one bath with claw foot tub/shower; living room with TV. Front porch has a swing, and there's a garden on the side of house. Guests have the entire house to themselves. There's a swing on the front porch, apples, peaches and grapes growing in the spring and summer, lilacs along one side of the house. Your hosts are happy to share their knowledge of the area. Two excellent farm-to-table restaurants at 5 minutes drive, as well as a beloved burger place, Laguna Burger. And several loved restaurants in vicinity. La Montanita Co-op, an organic grocery store, is 6 minutes by car. Close to public transportation and access to the two major highways. (I-25 and I-40). Close to public transportation and access to the two major highways: I-40 and I-25. Can bike to Old Town, Museums, Downtown, Indian Pueblo Cultural Center, the Nature Center. There is secure internet and a CD player/radio. Small house library has art and puppetry books. The kitchen is a large airy space, with both a dining table and a work/computer table. The appliances are a large microwave, a large counter-top oven (also convention), a small fridge with freezer, a double heavy-duty electric "hot plate" burner, electric kettle, coffee station (electric pot, French press and espresso maker), water filter at sink. All utensils, bowls, plates, etc. Everything we could think of!
